I'm trying to decide whether to keep this element. It's not essential to their grade, but it can be powerful enrichment (and a deterrent against AI). The pro's only obligation, really, is a willingness to have a student pen pal who might reach out to them for input during the semester.

When I last taught my online Graphic Medicine course, I had students team up virtually with a "pro" from some area of the field (e.g. an artist, a scholar, a journalist, a librarian, a clinician, etc.) The few students who followed through on it thought it was an amazing opportunity.
