The bottomline is the need for the ICC to establish an effective mechanism to investigate misconduct by its elected officials. I will submit that the internal mechanism is the best to do so, but the current mechanism would need to be reinforced to assume the role.

The credibility assessment must be done by technical body (investigative or judicial). If OIOS and the Panel have not done it, there is no plan B here to succeed, unless one goes back to either of those two levels.
100 1
Adjovi, Sètondji Roland @adjovisrjb.eurosky.social · 20/05/2026
The Bureau is not a suitable body to do that credibility assessment. It is a political body with different agenda than one of judicial or quasi-judicial institution.
100 1
Adjovi, Sètondji Roland @adjovisrjb.eurosky.social · 20/05/2026
The panel of judges cannot avoid the exercise. It was their duty to conduct such credibility assessment to make the necessary factual findings and then the legal findings deriving from those established facts. If they have not done so, that is another flaw in this process.
