Tyler @adioradley.bsky.social · 01/09/2026Gotcha. I've only biked around that area a couple times so I won't speak to whether a new off-street bike path is "appropriate", but I'd say Minneapolis is a pretty long way away from having too much bike infrastructure. 000
Tyler @adioradley.bsky.social · 01/09/2026I noticed that! The bike lanes there are certainly better than nothing, but they're not exactly calm. 200
Tyler @adioradley.bsky.social · 01/09/2026It's rough sometimes, but it's getting better every year! My route to the grocery store is about 50% off-street bike paths now, none of which existed when I moved here a decade ago. 210
Tyler @adioradley.bsky.social · 01/09/2026I actually re-read your message and it looks like you were talking about Lyndale specifically, not the whole city. These comments are maybe not as relevant as I thought 😅 But when I look at Lyndale on google maps, I see no evidence of existing bike infrastructure. Which bike lanes do you mean? 300
Tyler @adioradley.bsky.social · 31/08/2026Not all of it feels safe, either. St Anthony is pretty hilly, it goes up the tallest hill in the city. Central ave is pretty flat, but it's loud and busy and you're stuck between parked cars and rushing traffic. My partner has biked St Anthony with me, but wouldn't want to ride on Central. 310
Tyler @adioradley.bsky.social · 31/08/2026We have *some* bike lanes - more than many US cities, even - but not all of it is connected. In NE there's a lovely off-street bike path on St Anthony Blvd and bike lanes on Central ave where all the restaurants are. The two roads intersect, but the bike lane ends several blocks south of St Anthony. 110
Tyler @adioradley.bsky.social · 31/08/2026Is "I am listening to what the businesses say" your strongest argument for bike lanes being responsible for all of the business closures on Hennepin? Sorry to ignore your questions, but I think this is a really important point and I haven't seen you engage with it yet. 000
Tyler @adioradley.bsky.social · 31/08/2026She meant the bike lanes had to exist before the businesses closed. If they closed while the street was still under construction, how could the not-yet-existent bike lanes be responsible? 100
