I think one of the biggest mistakes in ADHD advice is giving someone a strategy without asking what that strategy will require from them. Bedtime procrastination is a good example. #adhd #adhdwomen #nightowl #bedtimeprocrastination

One line that changed how I spend my energy: there's a difference between someone pressure-testing an idea to understand it better and someone flatly denying it to win. The first is worth your time. The second is a tabloid in the checkout lane you get to walk past. #adhdwomen #latediagnosis

The urge to justify yourself isn't insecurity. For a lot of late-diagnosed women, it's a survival skill you built before you had the words for it. You learned early that disappearing was safer than disagreeing. #adhd #adhdwomen #latediagnosis #selftrust www.adhdapproved.com/p/people-who...

I appreciate that Dolly Parton refused to participate in "dress respectability" and, by her own account, modeled her aesthetic after a town "tramp," who she thought was beautiful. She separated aesthetics from character and understood "classiness" to be about how you treat people, not how you dress.

You've figured out you're in burnout and society would say, "okay well now you know what to do". This skips the development and imagination phase, where you figure it out, yes. And then you experiment. Learn something new about you and experiment again. You find out what works FOR YOU.

You don't need more discipline to keep your business alive. Your reward system fires for what's happening now and pretty much ignores a payoff that's a year out. The fix is dragging the finish line close enough that your brain can actually see it. Create short-term achievable goals. #adhdfounder

The client who needs it by Monday. The friend who just needs a quick hand. The favor that's technically outside the scope. Each one is reasonable. String enough reasonable together and you've booked every Sunday through March. And never once deciding to. Hold your damn boundaries. No one else will.

Here's to the women with ADHD who catch a flicker of disappointment on someone's face before they've even decided how they feel about it. That reflexive yes isn't a willpower slip. It's a nervous system that learned to scan the room early. And often. You're allowed to disappoint them anyhow. #adhd

I once said yes to an 8am call, then spent the whole drop-off line doing math on how to be two places at once. I didn't lose that boundary in the moment. I lost it months earlier. By never actually deciding it was one. #adhd #audhd #femalefounders #smallbusiness

You don't need more willpower to hold a boundary. Willpower is the most expensive thing you own at 10pm with a deal on the table. Decide once, while the day is calm, and the choice is already made by the time you're too fried to make it. You're allowed to decide in advance. #adhd #adhdfounders
