The goal is not to become better at forcing yourself to bed, but to understand what your brain is craving and explore whether there is another way to meet that need. #ADHDsupport should mean understanding yourself well enough to build something that actually fits your life.

One line that changed how I spend my energy: there's a difference between someone pressure-testing an idea to understand it better and someone flatly denying it to win. The first is worth your time. The second is a tabloid in the checkout lane you get to walk past. #adhdwomen #latediagnosis

The trap of being competent is that competence hides itself. The better you hold the broken thing together, the less anyone, including you, notices it was broken. So more gets handed to you. Not because you have room for it, but because you made the lack of room invisible. #adhdwomen #ratrace

Today, the FDA is expected to decide on #centanafadine, a first-in-class non-stimulant that may support not only attention, but also the executive function challenges that shape everyday life, like planning, follow-through, and emotional regulation. #adhd #adhdwomen #researchbriefing #academicsky

Diagnosing from one visible trait is like patching the symptom you can see while the real friction sits three layers down, then wondering why things keep breaking. I'm so glad to see this starting to (finally) shift. 💙 #adhd #audhd #neurodivergence #research

Using data on more than 10,000 children from the UK’s Twins Early Development Study (tracked at ages 7, 12, and 16), researchers found that traits of ADHD, autism, and learning and language difficulties (including reading, so dyslexia-type traits) load onto a single underlying “neurodevelopmental spectrum” that is strongly inherited,

You've managed your anxiety for years. The tools help, then the ground shifts again. For some women that pattern points to ADHD underneath. #adhd #adhdinwomen #anxiety #mentalhealth

A houseplant that thrived by the south window slowly dies after you move it across the room, and you'd never call the plant lazy. You'd say the light changed. 🧵/3 #adhd #latediagnosed #growthmindset #lifechanges

Small changes over time add up. 🌱 #adhdwomen #latediagnosis #objectpermanence #growthmindset
You don't have to rebuild your whole life this week. Put your meds next to the fridge.
That's it.
Years of forgetting met with one small move into view.
It can start that ordinary.

You're not bad at waiting. Your brain just turns the volume way down on rewards it can't reach yet, so 'right now' always sounds louder than 'later.' That pull toward the present isn't a willpower problem. It's wiring. #adhdwomen
“Because future rewards feel neurologically faint, the ADHD brain defaults to minimizing the discomfort of waiting rather than working toward a distant goal. This is a core, independent pathway in ADHD: not impulsivity, but a structural pull toward the present that makes future-oriented action harder to sustain.”

Waiting to feel ready is just waiting. Purpose gets built in the mess. With the version of you that showed up today. #adhd #analysisparalysis #growthmindset #writers
You don't find your purpose while you're waiting to feel ready.

You build it. In the mess. Through the false starts. With the version of yourself that showed up today, not the one you're waiting to become.

Healing doesn't always arrive before the experience. Sometimes it arrives because of it. Go do the thing sad. Do it anxious. Do it uncertain and under-rested and not at all sure it will work. The feeling you're waiting for? It's often on the other side of the thing you're afraid to start. [2/2]

The routines disappear. The recovery time shrinks. The sensory load multiplies. The mental tabs snowball and never close. If old strategies stopped working after kids, that’s information about your load, not evidence that you are failing. #adhd #motherhood #adhdmom #adhdwomen

It's 9am. Kitchen is clean. You put the bill somewhere safe. By noon it has ceased to exist in your world. You’re not forgetful, it’s that the signal is fading.

This is for the woman who holds it together all day and then cries in the car on the way home. Not because something went wrong. Because something finally went quiet enough for the accumulated charge to surface. You didn't lose the fight. You've been fighting it all day without knowing it. #adhd
Suppressing emotion doesn’t erase the feeling, it simply defers it. The charge accumulates. The day ends and you can’t explain why you feel like you lost a fight you didn’t know you were in.

This explains your whole evening. Not the dropped task. Not the forgotten word. The moment at 4:32pm when everything feels like too much and you don't know why. Working memory ran out. Cool, calm, and collected was the first thing it let go. Now every little thing is a trigger. #adhd #adhdsupport

Motivation is unreliable. Friction is not. Lower the friction on the thing you want to do, raise it on the thing you don't. That's not a hack. That's how ADHD brains actually work. #ADHD #ADHDWomen #ExecutiveFunction

So much of what gets labeled "side effect" in ADHD is actually closer to the center of how the nervous system is wired. #adhd #adhdwomen #adhdstruggles
A growing body of research now shows that circadian rhythm disruption is not just a side effect of ADHD. In fact, for many women with ADHD, it’s a core feature of how their nervous systems are wired.

The fight isn’t the task. It’s the gap between where your brain is and where the task needs you to be. Pressure doesn’t close it. A smaller step does. Not “clean your room.” “Put three things away.” Same outcome. Different door your nervous system can open. #adhd #adhdparenting #adhdkids

Sincere intention. Zero follow-through. Two hours gone. That's not laziness. That's executive function breaking down mid-chain. Your brain isn't refusing. It's struggling to coordinate. #ADHD #ExecutiveDysfunction #ADHDWomen
