Heads up: @panic.com Nova is a great Mac code editor (with FTP) for #Playdate dev, integrated w/Simulator, and it’s 40% off for another week. I really like how they handle updates: you get a year, and can pause/resume additional years any time. Whatever your latest version, you keep it forever. 👍

The DB needs to be created (it’s a LAMP server with MySQL already installed), and a web interface needs to be made to receive submitted orders and then edit them. But all the fields are completely planned out in detail. I have a specs document.

Less-than-ideal speed and (probably) longevity are worth it to me to have ONE backup ALWAYS running, yet independent of the internal SSD. (I use a spinning Time Machine HD when I think of it, and also Backblaze. And some redundant stuff in iCloud/iCloud Drive. You can never havd too many copies!)

Surely disastrous! (I feel a little delay when browsing backups for sure.) But I just don’t think about it, and I find it’s not usually running—just a few minutes most hours. I also don’t think about it when I want to log out/reboot/eject it to use another SD card (rarely). It never seems to mind.

A laptop Time Machine solution I really like: a BaseQi flush microSD adapter that hides a 1TB microSD permanently INSIDE my MacBook Pro as a Time Machine hourly drive. When I somerimes hook up a spinning HD as a second backup, MacOS automatically alternates to it. It’s been 100% reliable for me!
