Here's what I've been working on in the @allard-lab-ucla.bsky.social, with the help of two excellent undergrads, Keane Bui and Nada Osman, and collaborators Kate Morton, Isabel Kenny-Ganzert, David Sherwood, and Joel Meyer at Duke! www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6...

Dopaminergic neuronal dysfunction induced by newer generation systemic insecticides in Caenorhabditis elegans
While a growing number of studies have linked environmental exposures and Parkinson's disease (PD), the impact of many pesticides remains understudied; for example, neonicotinoids are the most used in...

Things are bad right now, but the work continues. I forgot to share this when it came out, but I hope this review article I wrote with @allard-lab-ucla.bsky.social will be useful to both environmental epigeneticists, and worm folks looking to get into the field. pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC...

#HiSciSky I'm a postdoc in Patrick Allard's lab at UCLA. I use C. elegans to study pesticide-induced neurodegeneration and the transgenerational effects of alcohol. I'm also interested in #STS things like the scientific publishing model and the use of metaphors in biology. #neuroscience #philsci
