The complete synopsis to RTBH: For a thousand years, The Old Town has stood as humanity’s last bastion—until now. Beyond the deadly mists and terrors of the maalkonis, and across foreign waters, lights flicker in the distance. There are other survivors.
Anna, a skilled engineer and self-taught mage, is among the first to make contact with these strangers beyond the veil. When she discovers that they’ve managed to keep the mists at bay through a mastery of magic, she seeks answers from their mage, Valentín. However, the magic he wields comes at a terrible price.
Anna’s copper machines represent an unexpected sense of freedom for both Valentín and future generations of mages. They present a future that he had thought impossible to reach. However, trust is hard-won and easily lost. Budding allies turn to bitter enemies as deep-rooted divisions within the realm rear their ugly head.

BURNING CHROME is Gibson's short story collection with characters trying to earn a living, make a name for themselves, or find connection. It's a cool collection, with a lot of neat ideas, and absolutely worth a read if you enjoy sci-fi classics or want to see the origins of this genre.

Adam recommends BURNING CHROME by William Gibson: Forty years later, and Gibson's short stories hold up well. While not every one worked for me, it was absolutely a worthwhile read.

There are so many small ways that you can make your book's setting feel a little more alive—what are your favorites? I find that a lot of worldbuilding happens in the details: a brief mentioned of some historical event, or remarking upon how something got to the main character.

Recently I had the opportunity to work with the Lunar Society to illustrate their map of Whitehead Island for an in-person experience they hosted there. It was a super fun one to work on—a map of a real place with some fictional elements related to the BELLOW OF THE BEAST film.

COPPER SKIN, OAKEN LUNGS released earlier this year in February, but the way it was formatted no longer works well for the series. So, the 5.25x8in version is going out of print, and it's being replaced by a new 6x9in version so that it matches book 2 (which I revealed yesterday!) 💙📚
