#QRV for iPad is getting a makeover to bring it closer to the Mac version than the iPhone version. This will also apply to folks with an iPhone Duo! 👀

QRV on iPad with a new Mac-style sidebar listing every screen. Live Spots is open, showing 8,804 spots from grid FN21 and per-band counts from 160m to 2m, with 20m busiest at 4,181.

When I check for users per gridsquare in the #QRV database, the 3rd highest count come from The Hague. Should I be nervous?

Now that the Android launch settled down, I have time to look at new features for #QRV. Next: Follow along with IARU beacons. See the schedule, see which frequencies are being used, and see where transmissions are coming from on a map! Early stages, but I hope to have something in the next week.

IDK what's going on, but my macOS update for QRV that includes accounts and full cross-platform sync with Android has been help up In Review by Apple for over a week now. I sent them an email on Friday, but no response yet.

OK, I actually had not heard Choosing Texas by Ella Langley, but something about this whole debate rang a bell. Turns out I've only heard the Hildegard von Blingin' adaptation: Choosin' Wessex. If you haven't heard Choosin' Wessex at this point, it may more about the listener than the song.

Currently working on my Stratum 1 timekeeping setup at home. The PPS module is wired up to a Raspberry Pi and collecting data, but I'm waiting for it to collect a bunch of data for a final calibration. My FT8 is about to be soooooo accurate. Side note: IPEX connectors can burn in hell

#QRV 1.28 is out on iOS! 1.18 for Mac is still being reviewed. This adds a bunch of fixes, plus better account management. You can stay with iCloud and change nothing, but now you can see all your signed in devices. When Android releases, this will let you sync and share your premium purchase.

You might notice that SOTA spots have stopped appearing in #QRV. Their team has changed the terms of the API, and I am evaluating whether it's feasible to continue providing SOTA spots. They have valid reasons, so no hard feelings in their direction. #AmateurRadio #HamRadio

Sorry about the slowed pace of development on #QRV. I've been nose to the grindstone on the Android port, and it's required a ton of changes on the Apple side, too! I think I'll hit my self-imposed release deadline of Sept. 30th, and then I have some fun new features to add.

Database migrations are scary stuff. Spent a lot of time stress-testing it on my Staging server (only for my testing) and found a few gotchas along the way. Happy to say that the production migration went off without a hitch! This will enable big things for #QRV soon :)

🧵 OK so I have my QRV backup ready… testing on the staging server. Basically, Reverse Beacon Network collects FT8, but at a lower rate than PSK Reporter. I decided to sidestep the duplication problem entirely.

Adam I @adam.iannaz.zone · 24/08/2026

PSK Reporter seems to be down. Even though they're not on the map, RBN does provide FT8 spots. I'm going to try and pipe those into QRV permanently as a secondary source. Remains to be seen if/how I will de-deupe.

110

Adam I @adam.iannaz.zone · 10/08/2026

A genuine question for my #QRV users: I'm considering porting to Android. This is going to really increase my codebase, and I want to ensure that platforms stay at-parity with each other. Realistically, this means that the pace of new feature development will slow. Is this an acceptable tradeoff?
