Adam I @adam.iannaz.zone · 06/10/2026Apple says "open your wallet if you want to open your phone" 100
Adam I @adam.iannaz.zone · 06/10/2026#QRV for iPad is getting a makeover to bring it closer to the Mac version than the iPhone version. This will also apply to folks with an iPhone Duo! 👀 110
Adam I @adam.iannaz.zone · 04/10/2026When I check for users per gridsquare in the #QRV database, the 3rd highest count come from The Hague. Should I be nervous? 020
Adam I @adam.iannaz.zone · 03/10/2026And on Android, the map respects your Material You color palette. 100
Adam I @adam.iannaz.zone · 24/09/2026The Noldor better watch out today. I don't need fortune when I have a poisoned blade. @middleearth.quest 041
Adam I @adam.iannaz.zone · 23/09/2026What sort of antenna are you using? I've had good luck with the little rabbit ears dipole that comes with the RTL-SDR kit. Yagi works better, of course. 110
Adam I @adam.iannaz.zone · 22/09/2026Want to know when to turn on the radio? Get QRV - now on Android! It has live spots for your grid, custom notifications for DXCC and DXpeditions, tons of band plans and reference material, and much more! New features added all the time. #HamRadio #AmateurRadio play.google.com/store/apps/d... 121
Adam I @adam.iannaz.zone · 24/08/2026Back up! It's crazy how much traffic is generated by FT8 -- the orange line basically at the zero-mark is Reverse Beacon Network. 000
Adam I @adam.iannaz.zone · 18/08/2026It’s really funny how much this makes my day. I read every one! 030
Adam I @adam.iannaz.zone · 14/08/2026Progress on Android! Working on Live Spots next. I'll be doing a beta test for the Android version of #QRV. If you're interested, you can add your info at getqrv.com/android. 120
Adam I @adam.iannaz.zone · 02/08/2026I'm trying something new today. Instead of taking screenshots and building App Store assets, I'm using Figma to make the screens from scratch. This will help me automate the localization process A TON. I especially like the new callout card idea to highlight key details. 120
Adam I @adam.iannaz.zone · 19/07/2026QRV has passed 1000 registered devices! This means 1000 operators are out there who have at least tried using notifications on the app. Of those, 953 have notifications still enabled, so it must be worthwhile! Thanks to everyone who has shared feedback; I'm always open to more 😀 #AmateurRadio 130
Adam I @adam.iannaz.zone · 15/07/2026Here's what I have in my CPS; it's so flaky though. Try holding P2 on the radio itself; I think that's the default to toggling Talkaround 100
Adam I @adam.iannaz.zone · 05/07/2026Been playing with my new Discovery Dish and L-band feed. The tripod mount is custom designed and printed in ABS. You can print it yourself here! makerworld.com/models/3012407 #GOES #AmateurRadio 160
Adam I @adam.iannaz.zone · 24/06/2026The compass view is now live on Mac and iOS! Hopefully this is helpful when settings up an antenna for Field Day or POTA -- make sure you pick the optimal orientation! #QRV #AmateurRadio 130
Adam I @adam.iannaz.zone · 20/06/2026Playing around with some visualizations. A small glyph on the Spots View showing where you're grid is being heard the most strongly. Tap it for a larger view that rotates with your device heading. Not sure if this will make it into the app, but it's fun! #QRV #AmateurRadio #HamRadio 010
Adam I @adam.iannaz.zone · 16/06/2026There's weather happening somewhere! Nice to see folks start to use the new lightning notifications form #QRV #AmateurRadio #HamRadio 120
Adam I @adam.iannaz.zone · 06/06/2026I got tired of my PowerPole connectors sliding apart, so I remixed something from Thingiverse. Print one for yourself! I also include the STEP and F3D files if you want to edit it. makerworld.com/en/models/28... #hamradio #amateurradio 381
Adam I @adam.iannaz.zone · 29/05/2026Backend fix is in place and works for users on older versions of the app 😎 Still going to incorporate the caching mentioned earlier, since it will result in more accurate reference across several surfaces 000
Adam I @adam.iannaz.zone · 26/05/2026On a roll tonight -- adding a feedline loss calculator to #QRV, plus some general info about different types of coax. I'm especially pleased with my little diagrams 😎 #HamRadio #AmateurRadio 140
Adam I @adam.iannaz.zone · 22/05/2026And here is the current Mac view, mirroring the style of the DXCC and DXpedition pages. I still need to fine-tune the detail pane a bit. 000
Adam I @adam.iannaz.zone · 22/05/2026Some updates I’ve been working on. You can now pick a custom icon to represent each net. Everything syncs between iOS and Mac, too! 100
Adam I @adam.iannaz.zone · 20/05/2026Working on a frequency notepad for QRV. It's an easy lift and I'm happy with everything except the name. "Frequency Memories" feels... bad. I don't know what else to say. #AmateurRadio #HamRadio 220
Adam I @adam.iannaz.zone · 11/05/2026This decode happened right at Zenith. Upside: crystal clear. Downside: only a single full decode for this pass. 000
Adam I @adam.iannaz.zone · 03/05/2026You'll also see more icons in the Live Spots on iOS. 🌍 DXCC (watched only) ⛵ DXpedition (watched only) 👤 Callsign (watched only) 🍃 POTA ⛰️ SOTA If you don't want some of those icons, you can toggle them in Settings. 000
Adam I @adam.iannaz.zone · 03/05/2026For DXpeditions, you can now also get a wider view. The app differentiates between "on-air anywhere" and "spotted in my grid." In the list view, DXpeditions that are on-air but not seen locally will have faded band chips. You can then see frequencies and large-grids quickly to get a better idea. 100
Adam I @adam.iannaz.zone · 17/04/2026Working on some small improvements to QRV: - Icons will appear in lives spots for watched callsign, DXCC, and DXP (in addition to POTA) - You can turn those icons on/off in the settings - Mac users can now customize their shortcuts! Anything from ⌘1 to ⌘0 instead of the current 1-4 010
Adam I @adam.iannaz.zone · 14/04/2026Today I 3D printed a new mounting solution for my IC-2730A. The vertical arm hijacks existing trim screws for mounting; the radio is held in a sleeve with M4 screws into the radio mounting points. It's a 2023 Chevy Bolt if anyone wants the files. Print in ABS! #amateurradio #hamradio #3dprinting 110
Adam I @adam.iannaz.zone · 13/04/2026Woohoo! QRV 1.15 is out on iOS. I swear I can never tell how long the review process will take. As usual, the Mac update is taking way longer; by the time they approve one, I've already prepared the next. 000
Adam I @adam.iannaz.zone · 12/04/2026Some of the new/updated widgets, and the quick actions in Live Spots 000
Adam I @adam.iannaz.zone · 12/04/2026Nice! Where did you make the grid? I’ve been working on my own as well (and you’re right — even a 1° misalignment with the yagi seems to add noise) 120
Adam I @adam.iannaz.zone · 10/04/2026Working to bring some of the Apple Watch love back to iPhone. Gotta add some more solar indicators though — too much empty space! #QRV #iOSDev 230
Adam I @adam.iannaz.zone · 26/03/2026Coming soon to #QRV If you have a logbook connected (QRZ or Wavelog), you can have your alerts be “logbook aware.” The app will automatically deselect bands as you get QSOs or QSLs for that entity. All optional, of course! #AmateurRadio #HamRadio #iOSDev 020
Adam I @adam.iannaz.zone · 24/03/2026That wasn't too hard #QRV Will be nice for folks setting up a second device or getting a new phone without restoring. 010
Adam I @adam.iannaz.zone · 06/03/2026Here’s your proof (Please don’t hurt me; I have a wife and pets) 000
Adam I @adam.iannaz.zone · 05/03/2026And it’s out on iOS! #QRV 1.11 now fetches POTA spots from their official API. You can filter, and any spots which are cross-referenced from PSK or RBN will appear in the standards spots tab as well. #AmateurRadio #HamRadio apps.apple.com/us/app/qrv-h... 100
Adam I @adam.iannaz.zone · 04/03/2026Here's the current "full" POTA view. It includes all spots listed on pota.app, many of which you won't be able to work! When I find a spot from RBN or PSK Reporter that matches with a spot on POTA, I will highlight it in the regular Live Spots view with an icon. 100
Adam I @adam.iannaz.zone · 04/03/2026This will be a summary of other entities of interest: all POTA spots, DXpedition info, DXCCs, and more in the future. It will highlight things that are workable right now from your grid, but drilling down will show more expansive info. 100
Adam I @adam.iannaz.zone · 01/03/2026Also simplified the POTA Spots detail view. You can filter by band and mode, and you can sort the results by time, frequency, or callsign. Your last sort method will be remembered. 110
