Here is @iamstevenhale.bsky.social, who I directed you all to be following earlier and was a witness tonight, reporting on what Tennessee did tonight. Just absolutely horrifying.

I need to remember that despite how easy it is to find absurdity in the fascism, they absolutely do not need a reskeet of their pathetic hate.

Watching Anthony Bordain in Russia in 2014... there are a people on here that are no longer alive, that were killed by Putin. Fuck insane.

Heck yeah.
Human-made over 5 years

No AI has been used to generate any code or content in or about the game, and never will be. Slow Roads has been a labour of love since the project began in 2021, and has been built with a decade of experience in 3D graphics and creative software development. Textures are hand-drawn, sounds are recorded locally, and all systems are designed and engineered specifically for the unique context of the game. This is a solo-developed project that I take great care over, and I believe AI simply doesn't belong in creative projects like these.

Please note that procedural generation is not a form of generative AI; the procedures used to generate the world in the game are mathematical functions that have been derived and defined by hand, with direct creative intent.

I miss the smell of New York. So completely opposite from the air of the midwest, yet so refreshing and good in its own right.

So Crusader Kings 3 is *very* playable via Linux+Browser over wifi. It's not as responsive as if sitting on the desktop, but it's not at that annoying/an-issue level. This just seems weird though. Cognitive dissonance running like this.

With GPU enabled, getting ~60fps with MTGA. Notably this isn't exactly graphics intensive, and I have settings way down. There is some occasional stutter happening somewhere along the pipeline that's not showing up in latency measurements, so that's weird. Good enough to play, easily.

Kurtis... I wish I had been this good with Docker when we worked together. I could have had *everything* ephemeral, the path to immensely better dev deployments of builds, even in legacy systems, is so clear with where docker is at right now.

[Werner Herzog voice] Each day the celestial alignment of cat-cat-dog takes place. It signals the consumption of the evening’s dinner. Soon chaos will erupt, a cacophony of talk only understood by the mighty beasts.
Two small cats and a gigantic wolfhound in celestial alignment.

Lou Marini is very much one of the reasons I got into jazz and the sax in particular. Same with Lenny Pickett (perhaps more so). They were both VERY cool and nice to meet and work with for a day. Once. A very long time ago.

The more I look at this, the more pissed I get. But I gather that's the point of this administration now. Owning the libs until we realize how fucking pathetic they are and we just point and laugh? It's a strategy I guess. A fascist, nazi one, but here we are.

I really ought to pick up the Saxophone again... sigh. Been 15 years since I played anything (used to gig a bit in the circles I knew). It's a good question as to what's stopping me, other than my sax being in storage far away.

School sent out a map of temporary bus stops. The map was wrong. The data was confusing. Kids didn’t make their bus. Parents weren’t at stops. The map was made with ChatGPT. They didn’t even change the file name. 💩

HOLY SHIT NEW IMPACT CRATER ON THE MOON This crater is 222 m (728 ft) across, and formed in spring 2024. Statistical modelling tells us this is a 1-in-132 year event. So the last time a crater this big formed on the Moon was 1894.
A large crater with bright rays is situated in the centre of this image. The dark, pockmarked lunar surface makes up the background.

I’m going to do this over the weekend when I can consume edibles at night. I’m still not over Misako’s (un)death for some reason. I called the fate of Rai from episode one though. Gotta wonder how much this influenced the tropes.

The stuff it generated is high school level. But the major events are the major events. I can do actual research from this data. It’ll give me a good jumping off point. So… yay ai for being a glorified natural language database search?

There’s no way BSG (modern) didn’t get some idea of the opera house from it. Granted it’s a common-ish story device in the subject, but a little too on the nose.

Finished Evangelion. Wow. The way they take the main story is crazy, just my thing. I can see why the last two episodes get criticized though. That said, I absolutely loved them. 12/10. I’d buy a print of a few scenes.
