I will forever be haunted by this footage. Trawling has only been filmed underwater a few times in documentary history, and never with such clarity. What’s so heart-rending about these shots is watching how the animals don’t just get swept up — they swim for their lives. 🌎🦑🧪

1/ The @naturescot.bsky.social Scottish indicators were published last week. The data, a lot from @bbs-birds@bsky.social from 94-23, show how Scottish birds are doing in different habitats. Woodland birds are doing relatively well, but upland birds are in decline. www.nature.scot/doc/official...
