This is good news, but the jerk in me wants to point out that neither Morongo grade nor Yucca grade on 62 (where the article seems to imply the crossings will be built) are in Joshua Tree Park nor town. That's kind of the norm though when it comes to press about this area so no big deal I guess 🤷‍♂️

Amazon product photo for PL-259 connectors. AI slop in great evidence in 2 of 3 frames. An outdoor scene shows coaxial cable with it's connector attached to what appears to be an antenna bracket attached to a mast, rather than an antenna. In another frame, a man appears to be terminating a piece of coax with a PL-259 by using a pop-rivet tool instead of coax crimpers. Some hallucinated, unidentifiable tools lay on the bench top, along with a slopified version of part of a PL259 connector.

I put together another Masters Communications USB radio interface. This one is the RL-20. Low cost, less frills, for making a radioless node. Which I want to do someday, right now using it for testing some radio stuff. This board lacks the fail safe PTT disable, a pretty sweet feature. #HamRadio

FYI those in Yucca Valley who have the sewer project coming your way. Hi-Desert Water District promised that door hangers would warn residents when access to their property is about to be blocked. Twice now they have impeded access to my driveway & there have been NO door hangers. 1/x #YuccaValley

My trouble with #APRSdroid seems to be with the way it is accessing the phone's GPS. Yesterday I ran a track using Organic Maps which tracked perfectly. Halfway thru the hike I started APRSdroid. While Organic Maps is running, APRSdroid tracks perfectly as well. #HamRadio #AmateurRadio #APRS

This is terrible news. I had always assumed that #HamClock was aggregating stuff from various sources in the local software. I didn't know it was apparently all dependent on one cloud server. I suppose there's no hope of it getting open-sourced now. #HamRadio Amateur radio #HamClock

"Half loop" antenna? Alternate name: Half-resistor antenna. What an extraordinarily bad idea. "Multi-band'? Of course it is. HALF OF IT IS A RESISTOR. Why not just use a dummy load and it will be all-band. #HamRadio #AmateurRadio
