Gordon Freeman as a character is really an exercise in showcasing how who we are prevents us from exercising free will. In #Half-Life he's manipulated by the G-Man every step of the way, not into doing things he wouldn't do, but into opportunities to do exactly what he would do given the chance.

New textures folder just dropped 😈 Using these for a spooky castle & graveyard scene I'm putting together for when I showcase my new character. The original textures are from packs made by @screamingbrainstudios.itch.io and @foxh3ad.itch.io that I crunched down to 128x128 and 32 colors each.

The image shows a variety of game textures in a folder.

The textures have been reduced to an even further retro style using SLK_img2pixel and converted to a 256-color palette I derived from hue-shifting the famous painting "Washington Crossing The Delaware" (Emanuel Leutze c 1851) to resemble Quake 2's palette.

I've always been a massive fan of the #Mahjarrat from #RuneScape, both their lore and their original skeletal appearances. Currently working on a #CharacterDesign in #Blender inspired by their skeletal forms. ☠️ I believe the art I'm referencing was made by Yann Blomquist in 2018, and it's great. 👍💀

Creating #lowpoly characters with separated joints is something I still have big imposter syndrome about. I immediately love the aesthetic and preemptively forgive its clunky nature when it's someone else's work, but when it's mine I can't get over how bad the joints look. #Blender #3Dart #gamedev
