I'm sorry this is just so funny, I love OpenAI now. They're locked in a life-or-death negotiation with Microsoft over their conversion to a for-profit, where Microsoft must agree to new terms or they don't proceed, and this is the story that OpenAI leaks? Lmao www.wheresyoured.at/could-micros...

In the conversion, according to The Information, OpenAI is asking for some very stupid things. I’ll list them.

It wants Microsoft to only have 33% of the new entity, as opposed to the 49% it has already.
It wants to lower Microsoft’s revenue share - which is currently 20% of OpenAI’s revenue - to 10%.
It wants to bar Microsoft from having access to OpenAI’s future intellectual property, in part due to OpenAI’s attempts to acquire coding startup Windsurf, which competes with Microsoft’s Github Copilot.

So, to summarize:

OpenAI is trying to cut:
Microsoft's stake from 49% to 33%.
Microsoft's revenue share from 20% to 10%.
Microsoft from having access to OpenAI’s future intellectual property, in part due to OpenAI’s attempts to acquire coding startup Windsurf, which competes with Microsoft’s Github Copilot.
In return, OpenAI is offering:
Nothing in return.
A threat of antitrust action.

I completely agree with this. Most people voting for Reform already think their councils are poorly run anyway. And Reform at council level can just blame someone else at national level or those pesky elites for stopping them doing whatever people are unhappy about.
