Visiting Chicago IL from Perth Western Australia I so much appreciated being able to walk, cycle, and transit to points of interest around town. The 2.5 million people footprint of the greater Perth region in overlayed Chicago embraces 10-12 million people.

There was this one done by a mob out of Vancouver BC, about 15 years ago. It was based on work done out of one of the South American countries. I tried searching for it recently but the site is now a 404.

Probably more number 2. It will still be 💩, but the people most responsible like the military rentiers & profiteers will be largely isolated from the consequences. If anything the more apocalyptically difficult for the majority of the world's population will be more profitable for the war pigs.

Late Diljba(Noongar season) and first hot-ish day of Anglo spring and first bushfires on the Darling Scarp. Smoke from bushfires make for spectacular sunsets.
Bike and Roe Highway in foreground looking south to Darling Scarp with dark smoke rising from several mild bushfires.Bike leaning on the banister of Mooro-Beeloo Bridge looking west towards the Boorloo/Perth CBD along Derbal Yerrigan/Swan River at a redish-orange sunset.

These "Cora" racks are common in Australia. This is poor placing for this sort of rack. For maximum capacity it should be 90° to the wall and about 1m out from the wall then double the capacity is available.

Preferential voting is way ahead of 1st past the post like USA & UK, but proportional voting is the fairest most democratic system. This is how the Australian House of Representatives would look if we had Proportional voting.

My unfavourite bike racks are ones that reduce the capacity by 1/2 or more due to positioning. The"Cora" rack with the red bike is reduced to 3-4 max. Its capacity is 8 if it is situated with proper access. The blue bike 1 is rendered useless it is easy to get jammed in if you put it at the far end.

I will continue since it is still here. We travelled to North America in 2016/17 & hiked & cycle-toured for 14 months with my Malamute, Flame. I wanted to see the hummingbird (Guelph, ON), Coyote(Heard & saw signs from ME to LA, to CA), roadrunner (El Paso, TX), and Woodpecker (Fort Davis, TX).

Boorloo Bridge is definitely open. A very welcome addition to Perth's multimodal transportation network.
