The land moves, and the Winter Knight rides… Throne Questoris has been a long time coming & I’m so excited to see it announced! I hope you enjoy spending time in the strange, bleak, icy wastes of Bayoux as much as I did :-) 💀🖤❄️

Oof, apparently 1.5k words is my hard limit for today after a rough night's sleep. Took a brief break, then sat back down to get back to work on the draft and hit an immediate barrier of mental NOPE as soon as I tried to type. It's frustrating because I am so close to the end now.

That's what I'm learning to get comfortable with. First novel, I tried to get everything as perfect as possible first draft - plot, characterisation, details, etc. Was a huge mistake. Second novel, I've learned to take a much more relaxed approach. Each draft is just another layer of improvement.

Stopped writing a bit early today, as a reward to myself for hitting a major milestone on this novel draft. Now just rather at a loose end, not entirely sure what else to do with myself.

Just had a photo taken to go on a Kickstarter page for a game I'm contributing to, and my god the picture makes me look old and tired. (Also, pre-emptive apology for some light KS project shilling come Tuesday next week, 'cos Wyldwood's going live then!)

Attempting to hand feed these little cats some treats is akin to sticking my fingers into a piranha tank. In their eagerness to consume the tasties, they care not if my flesh gets mildly shredded. They are very cute though, so it's ok.

Got the odd compulsion to name my new Lancer character's Sherman mech 'Megapode', and am now having to work backwards to justify why it is called that. All principally just so I have a reason to shout "Ho, the megapode!" in-character.

Maintaining a steady 2-2.5k words a day at the moment. Good pace of progress through the manuscript, but I catch myself thinking "damn, could do more" each day nonetheless.

Cleared the 10k words mark. I don't want to jinx it, but this is being surprisingly ok so far. I expected to still be mired on the starting paragraph, agonising over irrelevant word choices.

Tried @weatherfactory.biz 's Travelling at Night demo. Definitely needs polish, but quite intriguing for sure. I particularly liked how the footnote system is packed full of XP-generating little characterisation choices, which is a *great* way to get players engaged with hunting through them.

Very hard to write in the current heatwave. Our air con is keeping the house *in general* cool, but I have to close myself off in a room that doesn't have it to write without disturbance from children or cats. It gets rather stifling in there surprisingly fast. Still, made some good progress.

Loving how Count Binface is reminding us all of the importance of the Court Jester. Not just a caper, but someone with genuine political savvy, with insight, wit and satire, who exists to poke fun at people in power - and can get away with it, because hey look it's a joke.
