Cameron Fraser @achfraser.bsky.social · 01/10/2026Last night was one of contrasts. It started with ordering from the senior's menu for the first time, followed by a few hours in a dingy club listening to some great music with a crowd mostly 40 years younger. #Surfhat 000 0
Cameron Fraser @achfraser.bsky.social · 26/09/2026It was a fun day. Hope tomorrow's race is as good. 010 1
Cameron Fraser @achfraser.bsky.social · 19/06/2026It's everywhere. I'm watching it while waiting for my Friday takeout pizza to be ready. 010 1
Cameron Fraser @achfraser.bsky.social · 02/06/2026@thewaroncars.bsky.social ... There's clear evidence the High School kids in my area want to ride to school. There's equally clear evidence the school needs more bike racks, and to think about where they go. (The ones on the opposite side of the school are full.) 020 2
Cameron Fraser @achfraser.bsky.social · 17/05/2026Yup. We're not inclined to help at the moment. I liked, and used to purchase a fair bit of wine from California, but not any more. 120 2
Cameron Fraser @achfraser.bsky.social · 16/05/2026It does seem to be some sort of undeniable urge. I've begun to suspect there is a legal requirement tied to Ottawa residency. I was able to redirect my urges to trilliums while on a bike ride yesterday 030 3
Cameron Fraser @achfraser.bsky.social · 02/05/2026Funny. I was just reading an anecdote about unsigned intersections in Mexico City, where "higher status" cars do go first, IF YOU MAKE EYE CONTACT. If you don't, it becomes a question of who flinches first, so people in beat up cars tend to avoid eye contact. 010 1

Cameron Fraser @achfraser.bsky.social · 07/04/2026The same will likely happen here... mostly. My brief bitterness may be explained by the current view out my window (and its not expected to stop for several hours). 010 1
Cameron Fraser @achfraser.bsky.social · 29/03/2026A reminder about this post, which is not clever in speaking about a veteran and long term public servant... 0221 22
Cameron Fraser @achfraser.bsky.social · 05/01/2026That would appear to be near the snow rather than "in". "In" is pictured below. Mind you, I do not envy riding in the amount of water on that path. 010 1
Cameron Fraser @achfraser.bsky.social · 30/11/2025It's a good day when the shuffle function provides a few @ronsexsmith.bsky.social songs in a short time. It's older, but given the news recently, "Wishing Wells" hit home (again). Beautiful, catchy melody with some lyrics that remind me to push back. youtu.be/E4TmcJCzNk4 120 2

Cameron Fraser @achfraser.bsky.social · 06/11/2025Of the 1,100 men he had recruited, only 160 returned alive. In the statue in Uxbridge he is shown pondering a letter, telling Mary Walton that her husband has been killed. The letter in his hand begins: “Dear Mary . . .” He has been described as someone who died not in battle, but of battle. 010 1

Cameron Fraser @achfraser.bsky.social · 27/07/2025Bikes don't have to be practical to be practical. I have a bike I use for errands like groceries, but that doesn't mean I can't stop by the grocery store or farmer's market at the back end of 80 Km ride on my road bike that was intended strictly for exercise. 000 0
Cameron Fraser @achfraser.bsky.social · 18/07/2025Not groceries this time, but occasionally necessary... 020 2
Cameron Fraser @achfraser.bsky.social · 16/07/2025Short one today... 25 km ... as I get back on the road bike post op. It's pretty great that we can ride this far, and much further if we want, and have all but about 100 meters be on dedicated cycling infrastructure. 040 4
Cameron Fraser @achfraser.bsky.social · 14/07/2025I'm all in favor of transportation alternatives, including things like the electric scooters scattered around the city, but blocking sidewalks (at Lisgar and Metcalfe) for hours at a time really doesn't help the reputation or acceptance... @arieltroster.com 200 2
Cameron Fraser @achfraser.bsky.social · 09/07/2025The Giro Aerohead time trial helmet looks ridiculous... until you see it in use live, like on today's ITT at the Tour de France. Then it looks like a bullet (despite Vingegaard's performance being less than perfect). 000 0
Cameron Fraser @achfraser.bsky.social · 07/07/2025I was tempted to suggest they edit "Drive Thru" to "Ride Thru". It uses most of the same letters, and people in cares are riding too. 000 0
Cameron Fraser @achfraser.bsky.social · 27/05/2025Special guests in town. We stopped to make sure they felt welcome while on our way to the grocery store. 000 0
Cameron Fraser @achfraser.bsky.social · 02/04/2025Ship of Theseus time. I keep thinking I'd like a new bike, and then I realized that the only bits on the bike, other than the frame, that are as old as the bike are the seat post, handlebars and brake levers/shifters. So, I guess it is newish? 000 0
Cameron Fraser @achfraser.bsky.social · 01/03/2025From @deadder.bsky.social. A picture is worth its weight in rare earth minerals... a lot more than 1000 words. 000 0
Cameron Fraser @achfraser.bsky.social · 21/02/2025Same here in Ottawa, although they'll get removed over the next two weeks. The catch is they take all that snow and put it in snow dumps around the city. Those gigantic piles usually last until August. 120 2
Cameron Fraser @achfraser.bsky.social · 12/02/2025Nothing illustrates Poilievre's credibility on Defence quite like going to Iqaluit to talk about Northern defence while the current explicit threat is coming from the South. 000 0
Cameron Fraser @achfraser.bsky.social · 06/02/2025I've been a Canadian voter for 50 years. I'm not sure I've ever seen anything so blatantly corrupt as getting a $200 cheque from a sitting government in the middle of an election campaign. Doug Ford does not deserve another win. 142 4

Cameron Fraser @achfraser.bsky.social · 11/01/2025Proper winter is back, at least this year and for now. Got out at 830 for an 8km skate. Thank you @rideaucanalskate.bsky.social 000 0
Cameron Fraser @achfraser.bsky.social · 01/01/2025@gozwift.bsky.social Great job on the display update. So good, and a relief after another fitness app's recent "upgrade" that provides less information and makes it harder to find 030 3
Cameron Fraser @achfraser.bsky.social · 26/12/2024One of the great mysteries of Christmas is ending up with a fridge that is far more full after consuming a huge meal than it was before. 010 1

Cameron Fraser @achfraser.bsky.social · 04/12/2024We got our last dog...our first male dog... 16 years ago on Dec 14th. He was a year old. Two days later, we put up the Christmas tree. Then, the tree stand began to leak. We'll, no. It took a couple of days to realize he thought it was very considerate of us to provide an indoor tree to pee on. 130 3
Cameron Fraser @achfraser.bsky.social · 03/12/2024Yes. If your Australian nephew is visiting, as happened a week or so ago, you can pair them with Tim Tams for a multicultural sugar coma. (Amd. yes, I prefer with but will not say no to without.) 020 2
Cameron Fraser @achfraser.bsky.social · 17/11/2024Fiction and non-fiction sides, although there are two more shelves with a bit of a mix, plus the pile beside the bed, the art and photography books in a seperate spot, and the work ones in the third bedroom. And that's after downsizing. Am I cool yet? 110 1
