Well put. Not only being a part of it, but also shaping it. 15 years of feeding the algo has shifted our behaviour too; @wolfcat.bsky.social has a point but perhaps we’re a little more cautious now. In 2010 we believed in a distinction between professional and personal - that has been eroded.

Listening to the audiobook of Yuval Noah Harari’s Nexus, published earlier this year. There have been references to “Aborigines.” Harari, with his meticulous research habits, should surely know better. And pretty appalling that Penguin’s editors, in 2024, are letting that term go to print.

Thank you for the reminder of my terrible track record in predicting tech trends. I loved Wave but it definitely didn’t get mass appeal. I see Bluesky having more success because refugees from Twitter are looking for an alternative, so serves a purpose.
