We analyzed 2,200 campaign websites for @washingtonpost.com to track the rise of AI policy. It's not just data centers. Hundreds of candidates discuss AI policy -- more than Israel, manufacturing, or racism. One candidate promised to pass legislation to "prevent AI from ever becoming 'alive.'"

Also obscuring the data is how after Trump's inauguration day, we can see the narrative reports shrinking from an average of seven sentences to three. From more than 130 words on average to 40. The narratives have become less detailed. Who knows what's being left out, what's not being reported.

The Post’s analysis is likely an undercount of use-of-force incidents. There were serious enough Use of Force incidents reported by the Post and other news orgs in the past that did not exist in the data. And at least 140 facilities do not appear in the reports.

We had enough data to compare Biden's final year and Trump's first year of his second term. Detention staff used force 37% more times on 54% more detainees, according to our analysis. Of course, detainee population has also grown-- estimates of 45 percent. The delta isn't huge but consider that...
