They did a great job with casting and actors are so exceptionally good. I wanted to kick Alex in the dick from the first episode though, and that was long before he was outed as a sex pest and they killed him off.

I'm on book 7 which is well past the tv show storyline at this point which does help see the characters a little differently.

I've seen the show it's great (helps the book authors worked on it too) but I wish I had read them first since it's hard for me to visualize the characters as anything but the TV versions (who are all total babes but still).

Not yet. I rarely get into series this long, the storyline usually gets boring to me after a thousand pages but this one is rocking along ok so far and I'm on book 7.
