Be sad. Knowing sad is what makes your happy so magic. Let us pick up the silly baton while you have a break. Here are some accidental faces in inanimate objects to help you through your sadmin. X
Chewing gum on the pavement in the shape of a smile with two dots of gum as eyes.A box pokes out the top of a bin with three holes cut out of its end. The holes resemble a worried facial expression. Two circular spotlight fittings and an emergency exit sign on a building wall look like a confused face.A small ramshackle grey stone building in a field. The wall has two pipes emerging which look like a pair of eyes and a red brick in the wall's centre that looks like a tongue poking out.

In search of a podcast to chew over? Why not give this one a whirl? #AI, #Aphasia and #SLT. How do they all fit together? I had a chat about this with Jonathan Hirons, the excellent podcast producer with aphasia, as part of his series "On the Tip of My Tongue". www.buzzsprout.com/2330771/epis...

What a grand day at the #RCSLT Scotland day. Delighted to be a part of this inspiring profession.  @sarahheatley.bsky.social & I shared the work we've been doing with collaborators in Dundee to create a communication accessible city. Hooray for the excellent NHS Tayside adult acquired SLT service.

Can we use an #Alexa device to support #aphasia therapy? Here's a poster summary of some work I presented yesterday the the Bristol Aphasiology Society conference in Leicester. #BSkySpeechies #BASConf2024
Poster showing a resrach project with 2 people. They practiced semantic feature analysis therapy using a custom built alexa skill on the Amazon Firestick. One person practised successfully for 5 weeks and made a significant improvement in naming ability. A second participant tried the therapy for one week and then discontinued because of frustration with the speech recognition.
