@tristanbridges.bsky.social has written on recent sexual identity data from Gallup. Again we see bisexuals (esp. young women) leading the growth in LGBTQ identification. I’m starting a new qualitative project on bisexuality. Would love to connect/collaborate w. others! Who else is working on this?!

He is plain stupid. But public opinion, law & legitimacy are not neatly connected. When same-sex marriage became legal in MA a majority still opposed it. I found LGBTQ people leveraged the legitimacy of law to change opinion. Now they could lose legal rights even with public opinion support.

Here we go again, A decade ago same-sex couples “rushed” to marry, scared the right would be taken away. Far from rushing into marriage, most had been thinking about it for ages, and with their partners longer than the average heterosexual. Now they face massive fear and uncertainty again.
