A NOTE ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Anne Carson lives in Canada.

the Anne Carson Nobel news is such a breath of fresh air amid everything else that's been going on! Carson's been changing my life for a decade now; she's one of the writers who opened my eyes to all the wonderful things a book can be
Anne Carson's book NOX, which is essentially a paper accordion that comes in a boxthe Anne Carson card from the Literary Witches Oracle deck, which features Anne holding a tiny smoking volcano and an eyeball, with the caption "The Intellect"the cover of an Anne Carson fanzine I made to share with family and friends during the pandemic, which features a headless statue and a gray-and-white patterned backgroundAnne Carson's FLOAT, which is not strictly a book but rather a group of pamphlets, laid out in a long row

lit mags haven't been a priority for them for a long time now; I emailed them about a feature they phased out back in 2021 and got the attached message back. it's a bummer for sure, and I have a feeling we're going to need alternative platforms in the future
"Hello,

Thanks for reaching out about this. The form field is use-case specific to literary journals, and Submittable has expanded to serve many more types of organizations for which this specific form field type is not applicable. As such, it was not prioritized by product in the new versioning of the platform."

...but most of all, I want people to know who Ellen Arnstein was, to encounter her creative spirit + catch a glimpse of all the love she had to share. so if today, right now, is the first time you're hearing her name, then I've done my job! (4/4)
"Most of all, Ellen woke me up to the idea that everything I make can be a love letter. To the reader, to art, to possibility. It can be hard sometimes to remember this, but it's people like Ellen who convince me, now than ever, in the importance of art, creativity, and love in spite of it all.

As Ellen says in her final video: Be good to one another. Increase love every day. Love those who make you the angriest most. The world is going to get harder, scarier, crazier, faster. And if you’re here, it’s because you can handle it. If you’re here, it’s because you were designed to help make it better. So make it better. Make it better with love. Love is the only option; love is the only way. And I know you know that’s true."
