“Capitalism works if and only if all members see themselves as "pre-rich" or "feasibly-rich-if-they-wanted-it-badly-enough". Remove that and the system collapses.” - Nassim Nicholas Taleb

Global politics and international relations have taught me a lot over the past few years. My biggest takeaway is the importance of striving for self-reliance in meeting our basic needs and, in the process, becoming exceptionally good at at least one thing.

Denmark quasi-randomly assigned 12,000+ refugee children across towns. Those placed where social mobility is higher earned more as adults and had fewer convictions and teen births, from Daysal, Doyle Jr., Samandari, Simonsen, and Trandafir www.nber.org/papers/w35853

Pope Leo is getting schooled in theology and the future of mankind by people whose only life achievement is being born to parents rich enough to afford them an Oxbridge degree, what a time to be alive in.

The value proposition of LinkedIn premium subscription cannot be ethical. How do charged an unemployed person $39.99 just see the same last 5 people who keep visiting their account.

Sitting at a conference and listening to bankers and business executives complaining about lending rates. The rate in question is around 3.6-3.7% and it’s making headlines across the world. The average in Ghana is 15.9% (August 2026). Probably the lowest in the last ten years. Difference worlds!

Anybody else finds it interesting that these firms, that are almost always breaching privacy and safety rules, are all of a sudden concerned for AI safety and are actually inviting governments to regulate them? Classic regulatory capture in the making.

It’s funny how corporate brands get away with all sorts of things, man. Imagine a brand that has been connected with genocide both in the past and present, saying an athlete’s past accusations do not align with their values, as if the brand itself has some spotless moral record.

The UK’s public finance bodies have real potential to drive economic transformation, but they are too siloed, too small relative to international peers, and the fiscal rules are holding them back.
