I genuinely don’t know if any cats could possibly love each other more than Joe and Jake do. After a full-on rumble straight out of West Side Story, with hissing and vertical jumps, Joe and Jake made up with each other, dissolving into cat soup. Bad times forgotten, real love solves all. Namaste!

It does bring odd moments of joy. I once saw a really tough looking bloke covered in tattoos stand up when Fluffy O'Neil was called. The dog was a miniature poodle and as he approached the surgery door, he turned back and said to the waiting room, "It's the wife's dog".
