How did you turn off Apple Intelligence? On my 17 Pro, the toggle to turn intelligence off is no longer available.

I was very trepidatious about the whole re-recording thing, as I love that album, but I had a lot of fun with the ReWired version. Hope you enjoyed it too!

No reason to feel dumb. They don’t usually publicize dropping last years flagship 🤣 But whereas they usually keep last years base model as a budget option, they quietly drop the Pro each year for the new model.

They usually discontinue the Pro models each year when the new one comes out.

The prices on the later volumes are horrible :( I got 1-8 and the color sundays in the boxes, but missed out on 9 &10 when they came out. The print runs got progressively smaller as the series went on, just the natural attrition of order amounts in a long series.

Calling this thing Horizons is just like pouring hydrogen peroxide on the wound every time. Hydrogen peroxide kills healthy cells, immune cells, irritates wounds and can lead to more scars.

Fender has done some really nice models where they actually have their body shop expert wear the finish on the guitars, I think they call it relicing. They do the best job of the big manufacturers of it, to be fair. I feel like it still strips the player and instrument the chance to make a story.

Yuuuup. I see the Martin Streetmaster models, and on some of them it’s just a decal under the finish made to look worn. Kinda nauseating.

I'd love to credit whoever wrote this. No idea. But I'm 100% with its message. When I think of how the '80s ethos, "Greed is Good" has metastasized, it surprises and depresses me. Imagine having so many millions, hundred of millions, even billions & caring about nothing except your own vanity.

Just heartbreaking. I remember visiting there 25 years ago or so. Sucks to see the extent of the damage from the air. Reminds me of seeing the massive fire damage in the Tonto’s as we were moving out of Phoenix back East.

I still struggle to rewire my brain to revisit the Tiki Room on trips because I forget that that is, thankfully, gone. We had that mess for far too long.

Even weirder is the Ultra 2 and the Series 9 share the same chip. Ultra 2 will be compatible, but Series 9 won’t be. Just a bafflingly large dropoff of device support. Essentially the S9 is getting two updates, and that’s it.

Just finished WRETCH by @ericlarocca.com and just wow…. I cannot recommend this book enough. I’ve loved everything I’ve read by Eric, but this one blew me away. A haunting story of grief, loss, and coping with self. It cut deep, in the therapeutic type of way that only a special kind of book can do.
A hardcover book, WRETCH by Eric LaRocca, next to a cream colored dachshund mix.

Agreed! One of the reason I like being here is I have the option to not participate in an algorithm if I don’t want to. Or create my own, if I was so inclined. Point is, it’s in my hands, not theirs.

It may have something to do with so much of the 90’s revival being so intertwined with punk and other subcultures that were more sex positive… maybe it was a bit of a rebrand? 🤣

I saw! And US distro through Lunar could be great too. Having to the do the month packs from Diamond meant every few months you’d just get shorter a whole months worth of progs.

Bummer to learn that’s how Fangoria handles it, too. I really wish these magazinee, admittedly niche as they are, would get with the times a bit more. The iPad is 16 years old now…. You’d think tablet reading would be more front and center to them.

Aaron @aaronx.bsky.social · 19/02/2026
I agree. While it’s a nice add on, if it’s that clunky it’s useless. 2000AD has always been on such a delay stateside in print that I’ve only ever done the digital. Their app is solid, but being able to back up the files in formats has always been so awesome of them.
110
Aaron @aaronx.bsky.social · 19/02/2026
Woof. Is it extra on top of the print subscription? Or does it come with? I know if you subscribe to 2000AD digitally, you can read it in app or download in multiple formats DRM free off the site, but that’s the digital sub.

Aaron @aaronx.bsky.social · 17/02/2026
Yeah. The super fancy hardcovers and stuff, I get it. But even a normal hardcover or base tier option, it sucks as a retailer to not be able to just order a copy for a customer. Even if it’s after the campaign. At the end of the day it’s not a big deal and gets cool books published. Just annoying.
010
Aaron @aaronx.bsky.social · 17/02/2026
Yeah. Those prices are silly. My frustration come from the fact that these publishers can see the second hand prices on their out of print stuff, and instead of making it available or putting it back in print, they want the customer to take the risk. And as a retailer we are almost always cut out.
110
Aaron @aaronx.bsky.social · 17/02/2026
Oh. That is insane. On top of the fact, there is nothing more silly to me than an actual publisher the size of Boom or Dynamite doing kickstarters for these projects. Just publish the damn book. You’re a publisher. It’s what you do.

Aaron @aaronx.bsky.social · 24/12/2025
Indeed! And the upcoming slate does seem to have a little for everyone, which is cool. It all comes down to whether they trust creative and can keep the boardroom types out of it. It’s not just DC we have to worry about taking the wrong lesson from it, though. The industry loves trends.
010
Aaron @aaronx.bsky.social · 24/12/2025
I agree 1000%. As a long time retailer, I have my doubts that that will be their takeaway… but I really hope they do use this to be creative and try new bold things — not just all darkness. History makes me a skeptic, though.

Aaron @aaronx.bsky.social · 20/12/2025
You also may have been getting a better than market rate price on it last year, as well. I felt like they crept up a little by then, too, and then had another real big jump.
010
Aaron @aaronx.bsky.social · 20/12/2025
Yeah. BCW supplies, particularly the plastic ones, have been hit hard by tariffs. They are charging all their accounts a tariff surcharge. Comic retailers are not loving the headache.

I feel like we have the opportunity to turn David Lynch's quote into this moment's "Keep Calm and Carry On" and it's a far better rallying cry too.
The words "FIX YOUR HEARTS OR DIE" placed over David Lynch's face (a still from TWIN PEAKS THE RETURN).
