Lazy Saturday with our new cat, Rhonda. (Our 2nd Tortie.) My House rewatch was of no interest to her (although she DOES pay attention to The Office.)

My pal JP shot the Weaving/Gallner flick, Carolina Caroline—Adam Carter Rehmeier’s latest gem. Go see it! Go go go!

Looks like major digital music distro Tunecore is providing free Google Flow Music credits. In other words, a major provider of music to streamers and iTunes is pushing AI music tools and pitching distribution of AI music to platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, etc. Hmm.

Screenshot from an email from Tunecore to members in which Tunecore pitches bonus credits for Google's AI music program, Google Flow Music. Toward the bottom it pitches the concept of creating AI music with Flow Music and then releasing it on Tunecore.

It’s been a full 20 YEARS since I lived in South Korea. I was reminded of this fact when I found this in a box.

A brochure from Daegu, South Korea’s tourism board, circa 2003-2006.

I know AI sucks etc, but this new-ish search tool I added to Vehlinggo is pretty damn good. It's not super comprehensive, but it works like a simulated curator. vehlinggo.com/recommendati...

When I first started covering The Midnight many moons ago, they were playing more modest settings. Now? Easily selling out Brooklyn Paramount. #synthwave

Last night in Brooklyn, The Midnight played in front of a couple people.

I love when these memories pop up. 7 years ago! Com Truise/Savoir Adore then the Her Smell premiere and then this.

Why did no one tell me about this awesome film? Great performances, interesting story, and just a killer early 90s R&B/hip-hop/New Jack Swing soundtrack.

This dude blocked me for saying he shouldn’t be on X. Maybe his Bluesky engagement sucks because he’s on a block bender.

I totally forgot about this episode of Small Wonder.

Small Wonder episode 79: “To keep his company's presence in an Arab country, Ted lets its visiting young ruler draft Vicki into his harem.”

Happy New Year! I’ve been enjoying my new Playtronica midi controller. Making music with vegetables is a blast. I wonder what else I should try?

It's been great to watch Nation of Language become a popular band over the years. I was trying to find the 1st time I featured them on Vehlinggo. Looks like it was 2018 on the episode Le Matos & I did to talk abt Summer of 84. Ancient! Anyway, NoL are an extraordinary band & I am so happy for them.

How is this song 25 years old? This means when it released, 25 years earlier was 1975. God I’m old.

Is it because I use a jewel case made of sharp razors and barbed wire?

Was reminded that today back in 2019 I noticed my name in the thank-yous of an album by one of my favorite bands. (And so close to Gesaffelstein, too!)

An image of the thank you section of the liner notes of Electric Youth's 2019 album Memory Emotion. Aaron Vehling's name is circled.

One of the worst weeks of my life. I lost a soulmate Wed. morning. Her heart condition finally got her. We spent — no joke — probably 16 hours a day together on average during the 4 years she was in our lives. Now nothing. But at least we have so many meaningful memories. RIP Pippy.
