I loved this film. It was a fun ride from start to finish and had some lovely ties to Carpenter and co. Plus... 92min and done. I'm loving the return of the sub 2hr movie again.

An ICC lawyer wins Nobel Prize, then Orange Narcissist gets butthurt & makes his lackey sanction ICC, then does a deal with Russian dictator for oil, then sends his Blackshirts to NYC to shoot a father in front of their 5yo kid. Oh, & don't forget to tune in to livestreamed executions. 2026 is dark.

Christ on a cracker, ONSLAUGHT rips. The bastard child of John Carpenter and James Cameron, this is a the movie that should have played third at a Drive-In in 1987 after ROBOCOP and MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE. And that’s the whole point. Bonus 80s points for Reginald Valjohnson! So much brutal fun!

"Write me a heartfelt apology where we say we made a mistake, but use legal language so that we never admit faults or open ourselves up to litigation. Make it sound human as I'm too busy siphoning money from this govt to give two shits about their laws and regulations."

Musk having a financial stakein Warnermount would be terrible for Australia's media landscape. 10 Network is currently owned by Paramount/Sky dance/WB... But if we look at what Musk did to Twitter + every single business he has ever touched... This will only go one way: South, to the depths of hell.

The vast majority of creatives are struggling. Writers are leaving LA in droves. Directors are driving Uber when they aren't lucky enough to get gigs directing dubs or subs for foreign films. Recognizable actors are finding jobs they won't be recognized in. The whole industry is shitty right now.

Casual reminder that the myth of “pulling yourself up by your bootstraps” is a cruel hoax designed to convince poor people from all walks of life that the injustices they face are a result of their own actions, rather than an oppressive system rigged against them.

The Pilot episode of Lanterns on HBO was great. I love that DC is taking swings and branching out. All for this show. Love the casting. Love the concept. Can't wait for the next 7 episodes.

Film financing, especially independent financing, can take a REALLY long time. The emotional rollercoaster is not a ride I would recommend for those just breaking in to this industry.

ChatGPT won't let people emulate the writing styles of authors whose work it stole & users are freaking out. Good! Learn to write in your own voice. Read widely of the authors you love, & find phrases + terms that fit your specific story. Moral of this tale: don't use AI to do your homework. F
