MN Power is withdrawing from Nemadji Trail gas power plant proposal, per filing with MN Public Utilities Commission today. Since there are several other part-owners of this proposed gas plant (Basin, Dairyland), it's not clear what it means for the future yet. Here are two key snips:

Memo directs agencies to use "major questions doctrine" to preemptive repeal "illegal" regulations, and provide a brief justification through "good cause" rulemaking, where there is a "reasonably good" chance of prevailing on the merits. In other words, repeal and make other go the courts.

I mean, it feels like the House leadership sending people home for weeks during a shutdown should inspire some analysis, but this is literally the only way for Speaker Johnson (and his Senate, White House colleagues) to play it. He literally has no way to get another vote done.
