It would have been nice, Strib, if you'd emphasized that the school closure vote will be taken by a LAME DUCK board just a couple day after the November election. Connect some dots, please. There is skulduggery afoot. replica.startribune.com/infinity/art...

We have program next week you won't want to miss. Seriously. Doug Chapin is the DFL candidate to unseat the bilious Minnesota-absent Tom Emmer. It's Thursday, Oct. 8th, program at seven PM; gathering starts at six. Doug has serious law, policy, and election chops. www.chapinforcongress.com/about

This was 💯 percent predictable. All of the equipment: racks, computer, drives, etc. are not "fixtures" and are not part of the real estate or its value, and are probably not taxable. The big boxes have been doing this for years.

There is a participatory birthday for the United States at Drinking Liberally this week on Thursday, July 2nd. Deets in the ALT text.
Drinking Liberally-Minneapolis has a program this week that will need your participation and we want to give you extra time to get ready.

On Thursday, July 2nd, just ahead of the soul-crushing extravaganza planned by the president, we're going to have our own birthday party for the United States. The program will be all of you. Find a short piece, or write one, you'd like to read, a poem you found or wrote, silly or serious, and you can sing if you want. I (Steve) am planning to read selected political limericks and maybe sea shanties that I've written over the years. There will be a cake!

No matter how much Frederick Douglass or Howard Zinn I have read, and in spite of how dis-spiriting current events are, I still have a residual affection for the place, and I'll bet most of you do, too.

We'll get together this Thursday, July 2nd, from six to nine PM (the Happy Hour starts at five) at the 331 Club, 331 - 13th Avenue NE, the corner of 13th and University Avenues NE in Minneapolis. We'll start the program at seven from the 331 Club stage.

We hope to see you there.
