i don’t think cis ppl realize how tone deaf it is to ask us to make compromises bc like. we’ve been doing that dude. it is basically impossible to navigate this cissexist society without picking our battles. we are having to make these difficult decisions bc u guys keep forcing us into them

I really appreciate a trans woman saying this because it's very important to me not to speak over trans women and I know I don't have to deal with transmisogyny but I also feel very shut out of conversations about transness and trans issues sometimes and it doesn't feel good

That makes a lot of sense, I think whatever reaction you have in that circumstance is totally reasonable. For various reasons my initial instinct is always to try to help people feel better and I wish it weren't and I admire people who say what they're feeling in a way I don't.
