1) A person who is considered family but isn’t technically family. A close personal friend. Suggestion: something akin to “step”. Maybe “Fay”, fits with “friends and family” and works with the current definition of Fay. Ex: “This is my fay-aunt, my mom and her met in middle school.”

I feel like theres gonna be a big push on 'ethically' trained genAI soon & I just wanna remind people that even if they remove all the issues with what they train on, the **process** of training them and use of genAI is inherently bad due to the environmental impacts. 📰 news.mit.edu/2025/explain...

screenshot of an article with the following text:

The power needed to train and deploy a model like OpenAI’s GPT-3 is difficult to ascertain. In a 2021 research paper, scientists from Google and the University of California at Berkeley estimated the training process alone consumed 1,287 megawatt hours of electricity (enough to power about 120 average U.S. homes for a year), generating about 552 tons of carbon dioxide.

While all machine-learning models must be trained, one issue unique to generative AI is the rapid fluctuations in energy use that occur over different phases of the training process, Bashir explains.

Power grid operators must have a way to absorb those fluctuations to protect the grid, and they usually employ diesel-based generators for that task.

Increasing impacts from inference

Once a generative AI model is trained, the energy demands don’t disappear.

Each time a model is used, perhaps by an individual asking ChatGPT to summarize an email, the computing hardware that performs those operations consumes energy. Researchers have estimated that a ChatGPT query consumes about five times more electricity than a simple web search.

“But an everyday user doesn’t think too much about that,” says Bashir. “The ease-of-use of generative AI interfaces and the lack of information about the environmental impacts of my actions means that, as a user, I don’t have much incentive to cut back on my use of generative AI.”

Article is 'Explained: Generative AI’s environmental impact' by Adam Zewe in MIT News.

As an avid user of the feelings wheel in my therapy sessions I would say anxiety is a specific type of fear but fear can be many things where anxiety is specific. (I’m sure you’re not directly asking Bluesky but just sharing in case this helps anyone else!)

Using this post as an excuse to post the feelings wheel!! Very useful! All are basically the same but the first is the one I use regularly and the others are same info, different colors/styles. Save whichever speaks to you and use it to reflect on the future!!

Finally perfected my Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe! They are inspired by Entenmann's mini chocolate chip cookies (but full size)! Here is the full, quick and easy recipe! No chilling needed! 🍪 Also put it on Pinterest if you're on there! Hope to share more recipes in the future! pin.it/3Pxfx2PaN

Info graphic with my recipe of Chocolate Chip Cookies

ingrediates
345g All Purpose Flour
1 tsp of Baking Soda
1 tsp of Baking Powder
1/2 tbps of Salt
1 cup Unsalted Butter
200g of Light Brown Sugar
145g of granulated sugar
2 large eggs
4 tsp Vanilla Extract
Semi-Sweet Mini Chocolate Chips
Flaky Sea Salt (Optional)

Intructions
Mix together the Flour, Baking Soda, Baking Powder, and Salt.

In another bowl whip together the Brown Sugar, Granulated Sugar, and Semi Melted Butter. The butter should be about half melted/half soft however it should not be hot. In a stand mixer this will take ~2 minutes. Be sure to scrape down the sides at least one. If doing so by hand mix till it makes a paste like consistency.

Once sugars and butter have been creamed together add in the Eggs and the Vanilla Extract and mix until fully combined. Using a rubber spatula fold in the flour mixture. finally fold in the Semi-Sweet Mini Chocolate Chips.

Scoop about 2 tbsp of dough per cookie onto a parchment lined baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes in a preheated 350 degree oven. Cool on wire rack.

Notes
Dough should not be chilled before baking, baking right after mixing will give best results!

Using a 2 Tbsp cookie scoop will give the best results. The middle of the cookies should look slightly undone when pulled from the oven.

I recommend substituting the granulated sugar for 2/3 cups of Splenda it will result in having a fluffier consistency before folding in flour and mix-ins.

Amount of chocolate chips can vary, 2 cups is a good starting point.
