Very in the ballpark of The History of Skywriting. I eagerly await the Icelandic wind lecture... (it is really excellent news).

Deservedly, Anne Carson has been awarded the @nobelprize.org for Literature. Such an inventive, risk-taking writer. I borrowed the title for 'A Wound Gives Off Its Own Light', from her. Photo from @wcorklitfest.bsky.social after AC had performed the brilliant Lecture on the History of Skywriting.

Florentina Holzinger’s Tanz at @dublintheatrefest.bsky.social was unforgettable: wild, witchy, funny. A ballet class becomes a deconstruction of bodies, shame, folk tales and body horror, with aerial work, nude cast, motorbikes and an actor elevated after having hooks inserted (live) into her back.

Doing some research for a catalogue essay, and found this unannotated magazine cutting where Eavan Boland interviews Norah McGuinness. Would any #irishstudies / #irishpoetry people know when or where Boland edited an arts column? It is, of course, a brilliant exchange between these two women.

I did an event last night and in the Q&A someone asked if the stake in Hagstone was based on something real. I told the audience all about The Martyr’s Stake, what a very special place Wigtown is and that they should all go to the festival! Wishing you all the luck, but I know it will be brilliant.
