the reason you would have to wake up too early is mleague is live on a jp streaming site in the mornings (evenings JST). you can't be a VOD-bro because the VODs are locked to subscribers and also region-locked. the live broadcasts are not. there should be a mleague VOD-ripper (i didn't say it)

that's good to hear. probably an older-model issue then cause the "normal" volume on my volume-modded hnk could make the damn coffee table shake

000

Dave@Not-Convention Recovery @sasuraiger.bsky.social · 8h

small warning: if it doesn't have a volume control modded into it, it might be *loud as fuck* so be careful when you turn it on

gamesoftrobo.ghost.io/i-read-manga... "Maybe you'll start waking up way too early in the morning to watch their matches on Japan time. Maybe you'll start waving a homemade paper fan around while you do that. Maybe mahjong was just an idol-culture psyop the entire time, and we're all caught."

gamesoftrobo.ghost.io

I read manga biographies of pro mahjong players, so basically Idol Manga

If your otaku culture feels like idol stuff, but you’re not sure it’s idol stuff, look again, because it’s probably idol stuff.

This afternoon in Marble Hill, a New Yorker was shot by an ICE agent in a residential neighborhood. Early reports indicate agents surrounded him and a 5-year-old child in his car before firing multiple rounds. We believe the child was physically unharmed.

This is an unconscionable and incredibly serious situation. I have called the President; when we speak I will demand that he ends all ICE enforcement actions in our city. I will not stand by while ICE agents terrorize our communities.

Our thoughts are with the injured New Yorker and his family tonight. We are praying for his recovery.

Get ICE out of our neighborhoods. Get ICE out of our hospitals. Get ICE off our streets. Get ICE away from our children.

Abolish ICE.

A Super Robot Wars NEO English translation is in the works and is moving along nicely overall! Some of the work on SRW GC primed me for working in Dolphin, and its successor here in NEO is also looking quite nice to date. Some screenshots below (and maybe a set of bad pun ones slightly later).

Dandivine first ep was promising. "Protagonist so normal his lack of personality genuinely irritates people" reminds me of the red ranger from Donbrothers, who was so perfect that everybody found him obnoxious and loathed to deal with his shit (I am aware the shows share a writer)

i think the funniest fighting game balance change ive ever seen is in the formerly-rare umk3 wavenet rather than removing the base umk3 infinites by nerfing chars, instead they kept them in but added a cap to total moves in a combo. if u try to infinite still, the game makes fun of you, LOOOL

also like most modes in sega mj, this mode is a ploy to grind matches until you have ten first-place finishes

000

Dave@Not-Convention Recovery @sasuraiger.bsky.social · 07/10/2026

there is this mode in sega mj where you indirectly "compete" with a pro for best 10 scores in the play period. playing outside of jp i have always enjoyed an unfair advantage in these events cause of the time difference. and that's how i'm ahead of pro aiko hinata, who has better things to do tbh
