I remember making this one as special as possible, while still being super new to the more cinematic VGM videos! I ended up shattering a very cheap Ocarina and turning this into some wild slasher event, and pulled some experimental voice over stuff in too. Good times 😅

After Logan reached out, I wanted to spend enough time on the arrangement to give space to vocals and find ways to truly write a proper metalcore/deathcorey set of vocal layers rather than slap vocals onto my instrumental cover! The result has some incredible highs and I'm so glad we can share it!

I felt at the time they weren't good enough, and the production/mix wasn't tight enough to match the bar of my favorite music. I was probably less supported to just go for it til 2017/2018 when I got brave. I think 2026 Ro can handle tackling these now 🤘

Another Pro is I think most every other Metroid is going to be a bit less frustrating than the EMMI segments and potentially better OSTs, but the fluidity is kinda peak in Dread. I never beat the final boss so I'll be curious what you make of that
