My 2nd bout gave me a nodule on my lung. My dad and his wife were diagnosed with lung cancer within a couple of years after recovering from the same strain. They both died one year apart. Monitor your lungs for cancer and asthma.

For the question, I wanted to add impacts on organs, immune system + tumor growth but held it back. My dad & his wife died within a couple of years due to Lung cancer after catching the same strain. I developed a nerve tumor after my first, a lung nodule after my second. My immune system is a mess.

I am with you. Based on my lived experience, many physicians do not recognize an infection as a source of chronic illness. Most of them blame aging or psychosomatic factors, denying that COVID literally destroys lives.

The hardest thing I constantly have to do is to ask health care providers to mask up. I don’t like to justify that I'm immune deficient which they can see on my medical records, including a note from my nephrologist. Healthcare is the highest risk for infection. They should know better. 💔😷
