My dog looks to me for treats when she knows she’s done something I want her to. This morning she looked at me for a treat although we were just walking along. “What do you think you’ve done to deserve a treat Honey, be alive?” I said. Then, after thinking for half a second, “Fair enough” 🥰

These are the four dogs that have given me their love over the last 20 odd years (not all at once). It started with my darling boy Benji, moved on to sweet duo Lily and Charlie, and now I have my lovely Honey. All rescue dogs, all perfect in their own ways, all loved.

My nephew served in both Iraq and Afghanistan. He saw his best friend blown up, was trapped in a vehicle with one man with his leg blown off and another with his foot blown off, suffered hearing damage and ptsd. But apparently he and his friends did nothing for the U.S.A.

We’ve had fireworks almost every night for weeks. My poor dog is constantly terrified. I am stuck in a bedroom with music blaring to try to calm her, as well as being hundreds of pounds down after spending money on medication that isn’t strong enough to calm her. Just ban the bloody fireworks!

This is my first proper week of retirement (I was on holiday in Scotland last week). I know I’ve been lucky with the weather, but it’s just been a revelation. Dog walks whenever suits, impromptu coffee/wine dates with friends, home cooked meals and I’m finally on top of the gardening! #retirement

Today was the first day that we took Honey for a walk with my daughter’s new rescue dog, “Donkey”. All went really well and we even managed to get the dogs in the same house (on lead) with no drama. No pictures of them together as we were too busy supervising 😅

Today I had to take a very young hedgehog to a rescue so that it would survive the winter. Keep an eye out for these babies and take them to someone who can help them if you see one, as the breeding season has gone haywire this year.
