I think that's a John How painting. Here's his full piece used as wraparound cover art.

Full wraparound cover art used on a paperback edition of The Lord of the Rings. A painting of Gandalf striding down a grassy hill in the rain, with his staff, a pack slung over his shoulder, and his sword hanging at his side.

Letterboxd can show film posters because the title is in the poster image. Hardcover or Storygraph can show book covers because the title is in the book cover image. Libreture? Not all ebooks have covers, and there's no repository of indoe ebook info. So we need text too. Here's card idea #1

You may think there's a difference between the US and UK when it comes to authoritarianism. There is, but only in how each government implements it. The UK is more insidious and secretive about it. We have a highly authoritarian society, and an establishment that's protective of the status-quo.

Later this month, Amazon is removing your ability to download your purchased ebooks. Readers use this feature to keep the ebooks they've bought and paid for. If the ebooks are DRM-free, it means you can read them on any device you want, not just a Kindle.

Starting February 26, 2025, the "Download & Transfer via USB" option will no longer be available. You can still send Kindle books to your Wi-Fi enabled devices by selecting the "Deliver or Remove from Device" option. Learn more about managing downloads
