Junji Ito has been a big artistic inspiration to me ever since I first saw this original page from Souichi's Beloved Pet. I've had this in my drafts for so long that the original sketch was of a standard Meowclops; the mutant version came out a few days after. Happy Halloweeeen~

YEAH i wanna say anything gen 3-5 is optimal for streaming/difficulty but that still only narrows it down to five games lol Id still personally choose BW or Platinum depending on which roster of mons you prefer, but theres no hard consensus, its mostly just up to taste and game mechanic preferences

Emerald is also real fun, but i feel the physical/special attack split adds a good amount of nuance to the battle system. Anything in the 3DS/Switch era is probably too easy for you lol (with the exception of USUM, but everything else about that game is kind of inferior to vanilla SM)

Not a Nuzlocker myself, but either BW or Platinum prolly. BW is the best imo, but i know the concept of the dex having exclusively gen V pokemon until the postgame is offputting to some, and Platinum is a HUGE improvement over Diamond/Pearl (also you can potentially get psyduck real early lol)

Also if you're gonna make encounters toggleable, I respect the Bravely Default style "use at your own risk, you may wind up underlevelled for bosses" disclaimer when you unlock the option way more games that just. Have "encounters on/off" as a menu option/let you skip combat altogether lol

The solution is obvs not "no random encounters in anything ever" tho i do vastly prefer field encounters, but itd be cool if more games had a pokemon style repel, and if im underlevelled at some point, I can grind at my own pace. Like I DO want to play the game, just let me look around first

honestly the problem with "turn based battles are good because the combat is good" is that the combat has to be good, and it's genuinely not easy to balance a turn based system to have just the right encounters to not be a slog or meaningless

Like. It cant be overstated how much Nothing there is in the prairies. There's 1.5 million people in MB, and 870k of them live in Winnipeg. The second biggest city here has a population of 61k. The second you leave the city the landscape just becomes this for HOURS

Its RIGHT in the middle of the prairies, which are 2.5 provinces worth of uninterrupted flat grasslands, with two hours minimum between cities Then north Ontario is somehow both a bug ridden swamp AND covered in a layer of rock that makes farming impossible (its REALLY NICE to vacation to tho lol)
