During our food & weight management session this week, we challenged the big four supermarkets on how they’ll improve and promote healthier food in stores. We heard about flaws in the way that healthy foods are defined and adapting ranges for people using weight-loss injections.

The Government’s plan to shift NHS services from hospitals to neighbourhoods will fail unless working conditions for community clinicians improve. We’re calling for concrete action to be included in the forthcoming workforce plan to fix this.

The recent sugar tax expansion means that, from 2028, soft drink companies will be required to pay tax if their products contain over 4.5 grams of sugar per 100ml. It’s currently set at 5 grams. We asked the @foodanddrinkfed.bsky.social, why not 4 grams per 100ml?

The Chair of the Health and Social Care Committee has expressed deep concern to the Government regarding delays in carrying out the independent maternity and neonatal care investigation. In her letter to the Minister Baroness Gillian Merron, Layla Moran MP writes that the revised timetable for the investigation risks undermining public confidence, and calls into question whether evidence submitted by families can be meaningfully analysed before the final report is due to be published in the spring.
