A #WIP of a mesoamerican tlaloc offering vessel in blender. I took a low quality scan and painstakenly recreated every detail as physical #3d geometry. This took a whole day to get every part of it perfect, and unlike the original artifact its not drooping to one side. #blender #history

#blender #3d #animation #rigging tip: Muscle bones 1 bone parented to the shoulder 1 to the arm. NonDeformation. Create deform bone on shoulder snapped to both. Then add these modifiers. For Rigify set the pin bons to MCH-Name and deformation bone to DEF-Name. Now shoulder deforms better.

#horror often had political and religious themes. Vampires were rich people who lived in castles, only coming out to suck the livelihood out of the peasants on their land. Dracula in old Mexican horror #movies sometimes represented Spanish nobility for that reason. They were critiques of feudalism.

#3d #art secret for texturing Using only a normal map, you can mix together curvature maps to get a gradient you can use as a base for a new color map. The 2nd path is designer specific to add more color variation by shape. This can work in things like #blender too.

I was cleaning up my substance designer nodes when I decided to make a fully dynamic base pattern for a parquet floor that simulates light. Why did i put this much effort into a floor pattern most people think is ugly? I dont know. No one was there to stop me I guess.

I originally intended there to be actual fire on the #3D animation, but adding this was a huge tax on my machine. Between the volume adding 7 hours render time in Blender, it also made my GPU run out of VRAM with the water physics. I learned very hard that VFX was not "easy" compared to modelling

The thing people didn't see in the original #3D animation was the mixtec man, based off what depictions of mixtec soldiers I could find. Based off facial features of Oaxaca, I tried a muralist approach and failed to achieve that. Maybe one day I can do the art style justice.

I found this old #3D #WIP of the #aztec yahui of #Mixtec tradition. The creature uses real mixtec glyphs for the chestpiece and has an animated glow on the scales and glyph. The creature itself might not even be a creature, but a priest channeling a nagual of it during battle.

The X 94 is one of my first major #3D #art projects, and I went back to apply what I learned since I made it months ago. The original had 11 (!) 1K high resolution textures to give the entire gun texture. Now its just 1 1K texture. UVs redone, corners beveled. Its a brand new gun.
