Fave talk at @amsterdam.voxxeddays.com so far is "Learning Modern Java the Playful Way". It's not easy to give a team talk but @piotrprz.bsky.social and @maritvandijk.bsky.social made it look effortless with amazing stage chemistry and top notch content! Java is in fact fun and always evolving 🤩

We keep giving AI the fun jobs (coding, writing, making art) while we are stuck with the shit jobs (laundry, code reviews, resolving merge conflicts) what a disaster

One of the cool things about being a grown up is doing childish things, like having pizza for breakfast at a conference @ndcconferences.com

Much needed reality check at @ndcconferences.com Oslo opening keynote. Laila Bougria (@noctovis.bsky.social) explaining coding vs production grade software and how AI fits into that I'm fangirling hard 😍😍

I have short legs, so the temptation is to lower the seat Rookie mistake The goal is to train the rear deltoid. So the handles are best at shoulder height. This counterintuitively means the seat at max with a pad on top! Don't sacrifice your goals to fit the tools. Make the tools fit your goals.

At 37, as a "tomboy" engineer that lifts weights, I am finally embracing the fact that pink is the best colour. So I dyed my hair. I have shunned pink my whole life as "too girly". Maybe it's just girly because we have better taste? Internalised misogyny can come in the wildest forms

Romanian Deadlifts I find these really challenging as I have limited mobility in my hips I kept going, building my strength with "ugly" reps Finally after 3 years they look good 100kg for 7 reps You can make a tonne of progress with ugly. Don't let it stop you. Applies to software as well ;)

It's kinda nice to "start over" on a new social platform. On twitter I mostly binge-posted from tech conferences. I keep my IG for my lifting stuff. But on Bluesky do you want to see the lifting stuff too?

Can anyone top this for most unusual reason for a plane crash?

A passenger brought aboard a crocodile hidden in a sports bag. The crocodile escaped, causing a panic among passengers who all rushed to one end of the plane. This caused an imbalance in the aircraft which led to loss of control and a crash.
