Yeah that’s the big thing I’ve noticed there. I don’t think people realise how bad it is (and his badly they’re behaving) because they’re in it constantly and almost everyone is doing it to some extent.

Unfortunately he was really at the end of his performing time by then so it was not to be. Very frustrating imagining what could have been. They were supposed to do the Barcelona at the 1992 Olympics as well but he died 9 months before

People are so egotistical and cruel for no reason and I know it’s very childish expecting different but I can’t help it. I don’t get it. My therapist always says how I have the ‘strong sense of justice’ autism. I really think it kicks my ass with stuff like this because I get so distressed having to realise that a lot of people are just fine with being awful and don’t even want to try to be better.

I’ve been thinking about this and obviously there’s a lot of huge issues the place but I think what I personally find most upsetting is I rather stupidly expect people to at least TRY to be decent and empathetic etc. And Twitter is a fucking barrage of being shown that’s just not the case

It’s important to make sure a whole country of ARMYs doesn’t get blamed for something because people get xenophobic real fast. But that doesn’t mean the only option is to flip to the other extreme and assume every single ARMY is innocent.

We can feel for the ARMYs there that are doing their best and still not forget that the ultimate victims are the guys and their staff. And the people responsible are ALL the ones there, including the ARMYs. Even if most of them got it right, the ones who didn’t would still be inexcusable.

That’s not to say that there aren’t ARMYs there who are also behaving badly but from what I’ve seen, it’s mainly been ARMYs pushing back and demanding more privacy and protection for the guys, whilst the media, authorities and locals act like they’re being hysterical. They really are up against it.

ARMYs there met with the mayor asking for privacy and safety be taken more seriously and got cursed at and ridiculed by locals for it. They’ve also been facing a lot of misogyny from men there just for being ARMYs, including death threats.

I’m not sure if Bluesky ARMY are aware of this but a reason it got so bad in Peru is the media there announced where BTS are staying. There have been locals live streaming in front of the hotel and demanding money to turn the stream off.
