Got all the pieces together to get this IBM 5160 up in color! Found this Commodore 1902A locally which does digital RGB, and bought an EGA card from eBay. This is Black Cauldron from Sierra, the "booter" version which doesn't need DOS, in glorious 4-color CGA. What EGA game should I try?

No, the 68010 was definitely damaged, it was just surprising to me that the 68000 worked with no ill effects. And it was strange that in all my searching, nobody on any of the arcade forums came across the same information.

Nice, that was the 2000s era set in my basement, but maybe the 32" version? Didn't know what I had back then lol. Can't think of anyone locally who would want one though!

The Bard's Tale II cover looks like EA invented QR codes decades ago and only Nicolas Cage will notice it at exactly the right time to solve the case

First person in 15 years to carry a CRT on a bike (it was curbside free day in my town). Last person to do it was probably stealing it.

It lines up nice

I like Chrono Cross better than Trigger

Today's repair.. My own dang Centipede! The monitor chassis died they other day. One minute it was fine, the next minute, no high voltage. It was one of those cheapy AliExpress specials, so I just replaced it.

Love the artwork and the fact that the back of the manual looks like the back of a gameboy with the game in it.

Recently got an old Pachinko machine and decided to try out GB Pachiokun which features a medieval court, spaceships, and normal-ass Pachinko parlors. Great tunes though.

Yeah, me too. The pack I bought had a mix of Roland and Korg disks, but they were all backed up online already (and I don't even have compatible synths for these particular disks)

I was actually referring to the Japanese spine (visible on the top of the case on the left). Pretty sure all FDS disks are rewritable though.

Speaking of FDS, my copy of Legend of Zelda is quite odd. It's a blue disk, with a generic label. But the case has a possibly-legit spine with "ファミコン通信" at the bottom, a legit sticker on the back, and a US style hand drawn cover on the front, which is glued on. Can't tell what's under it.

Listening to @jparish.bsky.social on Retronauts talking about the Famicom Disk System. Reminded me that I have a Roland MT-32 compatible synth (the MT-100) that has a QuickDisk drive. Very cool to see how Nintendo adapted them.

Last time I saw them in concert they were making a habit of playing albums front to back during the set, and on my night it was Binaural, which was amazing because Light Years is my favourite song, and it's a pretty rare one to get live. Binaural, Ten and Versus for sure.

Realized I had maybe one of the rarest arcade marquees around, and it's unused. The layer on the front was cemented on and I'm getting it off now with some water and heat. Can anyone guess what it is?

For some reason I was looking up the Beavis and Butthead point-and-click games and was surprised to find they weren't all made by the same dev. The Illusions Gaming Company might have had the most esoteric cross section of games I can think of:

Today's repair Super Sprint is a massive two board set and requires a second power supply for the video board. It's also a 24kHz game so I use the capture card to work on it.
