Tonight I was nerding out on a history show that discussed the industrial revolution and the invention of textile manufacturing and after going down an internet wormhole discovered that there is no machine that can do crochet? Knitting machine, yes, crochet no. I am astounded. Prove me wrong.

Here’s a poem called ‘Merry’.

Merry

It’s a word which only comes out at Christmas.

As for the rest of the year,
it’s as if it has been packed away in the attic
with the decorations and the tinsel,
waiting for its own time to shine.

Rarely do we play hell with it.
We do not let it loose for birthdays
or anniversaries; only in error does it intrude
on the happiness of a new year.

But at Christmas, it emerges blinking
into the light, red-cheeked and perky,
in a perfect state of mild inebriation,
writing itself into Christmas cards,

greeting friends on doorsteps,
embracing family before they take off their shoes,
warming strangers on icy pavements.
Merry Christmas, we say. Merry Christmas.

Wow. Really impressed with Apple TV Disclaimer. Keven Kline and Cate Blanchett and the rest of cast were amazing. After not engaging with 1st 3 eps due to porn and not sure if I understood & if I wanted to even finish the series I decide to give it a shot and was surprised by how i was affected.👍

Well my first (and probably only) skeet is that I have just seen a live mouse in my house for the first time in my life! The dog was terribly interested but not much help. Now I am googling 'live mouse traps' and trying not to freak out, other than call pest control in the AM and getting a cat. Ugh!
