as a reader, do you feel the same way about it as a writer? also, its where my writing lands naturally, but 1) when i include flashbacks, i like that those are past tense but the main storyline isnt 2) i like the protag not knowing the future, which is the default POV with present tense

#CRPBeeMine #CampRevPit My manuscript isn't a romance, but in the romantic subplot, they fall for each other rather quickly, so this is still chapter 1! I can hear the U-Haul from here already... (This is Viv and Yaz meeting on set on Yaz's birthday)

“When we're done tonight, if we're not wrapped too late, let's get a drink.” She pats my back. “Let’s celebrate your birthday.”
Did my heart just skip a beat? She keeps such intense eye contact—not intimidating, just letting me know that she's paying attention. That’s not something I'm used to. It’s a lonely city. When people talk to me here, they talk at me. Especially actors—They always seem to be looking for a mirror behind me, so they can watch themselves deliver their improvised lines of conversation. They look at their own reflections on my irises. But not her. Not Viv. She has been holding onto my shoulders the entire time. A soft touch, almost a massage, as the nurse wraps my ankle in a beige bandage that is a few shades too light for my Boricua skin.
“Yeah,” I try not to sound so excited. God damn it, Yaz, you're way too old for a crush.
