Some of my favourite musicians working today. Steve Gunn and John Truscinski intuitively converse through strings, drone, and percussion, creating a meditative sonic landscape. Highly anticipating their next record, Flam, out Feb 28 gunntruscinskiduo.bandcamp.com/album/flam

Eli Winter's latest traces the restrained chaos that the quartet fostered in the studio. It’s darker, more contorted than his past works, and certainly in line with the Chicago school of fusion that’s birthed so many favorites. New album soon on Three Lobed. bit.ly/3Xd9qeP

Openness and flow let Flam pulse with an airiness that’s often been absent in the past. GTD calls out the cinematic feelings on the record, and it does feel like a kindred spirit to someone like Steven R. Smith, using studio vibe like a Ouija to create emotional arcs. bit.ly/3QzC8TJ

If you're a music writer interested in hearing my next record, plz DM for JDD Promo Party Pack or vinyl. The Lifer Label & I are doing our own DIY full court PRESS. It's a laidback country-folk LP, never boring, never redundant, in the pocket, & singular. You've been warned.
