Minimal social media and lots of board games is part of my recipe for an analog lifestyle. ☺️

I shed a bitter tear when I saw that picture.

I’m still waiting for that movement card! 😄

Chris Plaisted @2muchenthusiasm.bsky.social · 07/08/2026

That’s the dream, right! In a perfect world I would like one with a well so I could play a game on top while keeping some long, ongoing game safely stored in the well.

Strangely, I live in western Oregon, where it’s much more humid, but I don’t have any warping issues. Seems like I should, but I don’t.

I ended buying a cheapo table, and, while I’d love a fancy table, my discount basic table has been fine for me. I do still daydream occasionally about one though.

I love it! You’re thinking like a podcaster.

Chris Plaisted @2muchenthusiasm.bsky.social · 10/06/2026

Very sad. Although I imagine he would be pleased that the campaign was a success. So many aren’t.

010

Chris Plaisted @2muchenthusiasm.bsky.social · 09/06/2026

Absolutely! After all of the waiting and anticipation I’m almost nervous about playing this one.

Thank you so much! And thanks to our whole community for your support and your votes in the Golden Geeks this year. You make it all worthwhile!!!

Chris Plaisted @2muchenthusiasm.bsky.social · 11/05/2026

Thanks! A lot of great memories in this episode! As for Obsession, let’s do it. I can’t get enough of that game.

020

Chris Plaisted @2muchenthusiasm.bsky.social · 19/04/2026

Speakeasy felt much heavier to me. The question, of course, is whether the complexity is worth it or if it’s bloat. No spoiler here on that one. 😉

I’ve seen that! As much as it’s going to appeal to Portlanders, it seems like they’re really limiting their audience. That said, PDX really is the best airport.

Chris Plaisted @2muchenthusiasm.bsky.social · 18/02/2026

Like the weight of the world lifted from my shoulders! 😄

Chris Plaisted @2muchenthusiasm.bsky.social · 12/02/2026

That’s about the same as what I’m seeing online, but the trick is I’m not seeing it available from any US retailers. So, US buyers would have to order it from a Canadian store, and tariffs would be added during shipping.

Let me know how the Old Growth expansion plays.

100

Chris Plaisted @2muchenthusiasm.bsky.social · 12/02/2026

I love it! I think I’ll be putting in my order very soon. Sadly, it will probably come with a significant tariff markup, but this game is worth it.

Chris Plaisted @2muchenthusiasm.bsky.social · 03/02/2026

Right! Judging from your Obsession rig, you’re not just talking the talk either! It’s amazing to me how a great visual and tactile experience can put a shine on an otherwise mediocre game … or bring a great game to the next level. Keep up the good work!

Congrats Andy, that’s an amazing accomplishment! Sounds like time for the second printing.

As long as the art is by Klemens Franz. 😄 To be honest, I feel my opposition has softened on both of them this year. Maybe I’m just getting mellower with age.

This one’s cool. The board is a rollable playmat. I’d love to get one that I saw at BGGCon … small box that folds out into the board, with beautiful watercolor artwork of a mountain.

Great question. Seems like it should be a mess, right? But I’ve never done anything special. Just lucky, I guess.

Can’t Stop is a push-your-luck classic that every gamer should have in their collection. Not only is it fun and addictive, but it’s easy to get on the table with any group - including non-gamers.

Pretty sure it was Mad Mary’s Gift Shop and Soda Fountain. I guess that’s the local gaming hotspot! 😄

That might be one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen.

In today's podcast we cover the best games we got introduced to in 2025 but that we only got to play once (so far). Listen here: spotifycreators-web.app.link/e/K2vCvbgrsZb Happy a wonderful New Year! #boardgames

It doesn’t have drawstrings, but it absolutely should. We just put the tiles in a ziplock baggie so they don’t spill everywhere

A little New Years getaway is a great excuse to use my Azul travel set. Highly recommend for anyone who likes the game and wants an easy way to play it on the road.

The ever expanding reach of hobby board games never fails to amaze me. In the tiny mountain town of Joseph, Oregon, home to about 1,000 residents, I found this gem tucked into a shelf at the general store. Harmonies!

Totally agree about WT! I hadn’t heard of Fearsome Floors either, but my friend brought it out for a light end-of-night game, and it was a hoot. Each faction has to get their folks out of a dungeon while avoiding a monster. And, you even get to build your own monster from component parts. 🤩

Chris Plaisted @2muchenthusiasm.bsky.social · 27/12/2025

We busted it out because we had six players, and it’s the rare game that can accommodate any size group … on top of being great fun.

I love that positive spirit! If I put on the sneakers AND my BGHT bowling shirt (courtesy of Adam), I’d be a walking billboard!

Chris Plaisted @2muchenthusiasm.bsky.social · 27/12/2025

I made it to my local game night for the first time in many weeks last night. We played Welcome To and Fearsome Floors. These two light little gems made for a surprisingly satisfying evening.

Awww! I’m sorry to hear that this has been a difficult Christmas for you. But if it helps at all, this little dose of cuteness certainly brightened my day!

Chris Plaisted @2muchenthusiasm.bsky.social · 26/12/2025

For Christmas, my son (the sneakerhead) got me a pair of custom BGHT Air Force 1s. You know I’ll be wearing these with pride to my next game night. 🤘

6 months … that’s a fair critique, Dup. 😄 I think I broke my own record with this response. And thanks for the kind words about the thumbnails. Those are really fun to make.
