Don’t wish them any harm m, of course, but I’m not a fan of hedgehogs. My cat spiked her nose on one trying to stop it from eating her dinner when I was a lad, and I find the whole rolling into a ball thing 1. Overly dramatic 2. Somewhat passive aggressive

there’s no evidence for this at all at all, it’s from a survey by a think tank who are selling cpd courses, their own data shows only 13% of respondents work with the age group they’re being asked about and those respondents report lower numbers than the rest, who are guessing.

I’m not sure, but it appears to be MBT (CBT alternative) working with the whole family rather than just the person who is experiencing MH difficulties the wiki page suggests it started off as part of the youth justice system and that there’s no evidence for it

An image from the 2013 docudrama, An Adventure In Space and Time. David Bradley as William Hartnell. He is dressed as the First Doctor before shooting his last scenes in his final story, The Tenth Planet.

In this poignant scene, Hartnell looks across the TARDIS console and sees a future Doctor, a symbolic scene ensuring that what Hartnell created lasts and goes on. In the original broadcast on November 21, 2013 as part of the show's 50th anniversary, Hartnell sees Matt Smith as the Eleventh Doctor, the Doctor at the time. When it was rebroadcast during the 60th anniversary on November 23, 2023, Smith was replaced by Ncuti Gatwa, who was about to become the 15th Doctor.

In this image, Hartnell looks across and sees the Doctor from the upcoming CBeebies program, Doctor Who: TARDIS Crew.

old man wesso said this this morning
Prof Sir Simon Wessely, professor at King's College London and the review's vice-chairman, warned that Britain was reaching a "tipping point".

"If these present trends continue, the risk of overdiagnosis and over-medicalisation is very, very likely," he said.

Among boys aged six to 11, recorded autism prevalence rose almost 16-fold, from 0.4 to 6.3 per cent between 2000 and 2025.

Asked whether the figures suggested overdiagnosis among younger boys, Sir Simon said: "It's looking that way."

only glanced at this report and have no intention of reading it closely, overdiagnosis and misdiagnosis are mentioned repeatedly - they insinuate children/teens are being overdiagnosed to some extent but with very flimsy evidence (surveys of GPs, age comparison graphs)

they said there’s not enough data either way, people can and will interpret that however they like there’s an easy read version here (ideally when there’s a question like this someone would do research to try and answer it, but nowadays we just get vague reports)
Some people are worried that people are getting diagnosed with conditions they do not really have.

This is called overdiagnosis.

We could not decide if lots of people are being diagnosed with conditions they do not have, based on the information we looked at.

But some people are being told they have one condition when a different condition is causing their difficulties.

This is called misdiagnosis.

We think there is a danger that this could happen more.

What matters most is that people can get help when they need it, without having to wait to be diagnosed first

there’s nothing substantial regarding speech and language therapy and no recommendations about it further than ‘SaLT should be on the team’ (WE’VE HAD A SHORTAGE FOR 30 YEARS) how do you miss one of the central needs in autism? it’s not an MH condition

it would be a real issue if lots and lots of autistic people didn‘t like behaviourism good thing that’s not the case
